Reconstructing More Science
Benji and 10 others reacted to BaconSandwich for a topic
Okay, so this one has a bit of a story behind it. For some reason, the track "Reconstructing More Science" in the Portal 2 OST, which is the full version of the main trailer theme, is right at the beginning of Volume 3 instead of Volume 1. Judging by the songs directly before and after it, this is right between the part of the game where you make it out of Old Aperture and the part where you and GLaDOS meet Wheatley again. Now, this got me thinking: what if instead of just a full trailer theme, the track played during the elevator ride back up, when Chell and GLaDOS first see the state of chaos the facility is in under Wheatley's control? (I know the ride isn't actually very long in the game's canon because you traveled so far up before getting to the elevator, but eh, basing a wallpaper off of an oddly placed song isn't exactly what you'd call canon anyway.) IMO, this still shot would probably be at some point during the calmer intermission (idk if that's actually what you call it, but that's the best word I could find.) I don't really have any plans to make an animation out of this, although it would be cool, but eh, this is enough for now. Enjoy and please appreciate this because it nearly crashed my computer kthxbye Also, the song for anybody who wants to hear it is down below:11 points -

Drowned
YourNormalPersonDavi and 5 others reacted to TexasTony04 for a topic
So Today, I started a world, and spawned in a spruce forest. Great start 'cause spruce is one of my top 3 favorite biomes. I'm surrounded by trees, stone, pigs, sheep, cows, salmon, and the world is just dandy. I get a bed, half a stack of pretty much every meat imaginable, and I head out. I soon find a plains village. I hate plains villages, so I rob it and move on. So far so good. I come to a beach and find a shipwreck completely on land. Yay. I loot it and get a buried treasure map. I follow the map and get to where I think the treasure is. I'm feeling like a million bucks. In 20 minutes I've become filthy rich. Well it's getting dark now, so before I start digging for treasure, I decide to go to sleep. I place my bed right on the banks of the beach, and lay down. As I'm drifting off, A drowned with a trident SWIMS UP TO ME AND TRIDENTS ME TO DEATH. i lose everything, and spawn back at my spruce forest which at this point is countless chunks away from my bed. I log off as zombies and skeletons start spawning all around me. So I start a new world.....and spawn in the middle of a desert.6 points -

Good afternoon community people. I've decided to make a lightroom for certain individuals that would like to have a good render for their characters or rigs that they want to show off. I present... My Lightroom V.1 (Probably my only one to be honest) Each image shown was rendered with Mine-Imator 1.0.6 with no third party programs. (Surprise... surprise) These are just some poses you can make inside the lightroom... well you can do whatever you want... regardless. Carrying on... Here's each pose if you want to look at them. Here's what you'll be downloading if you click the download link. You'll need a pretty high-end PC to run this in realtime, but I hope you can at least preview the renders in how many seconds. Ask me any questions you have about the lightroom and I will answer you as soon as possible. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Download here [ 10.17 KB ] --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No need to credit if used DO NOT... - redistribute or claim the lightroom as your own or give to people with a different link. Simple... just don't claim it as your own. Don't lie to your audience either. Nobody likes a liar. Have a good day and happy animating!1 point

Dev update #17: Rebrand announcement and more!
TrungDN_Artz reacted to Nimi for a topic
G'day, morning, or night everyone. Today I'll be sharing some news that'll affect the Mine-imator 'brand', and news regarding the next updates to Mine-imator and Modelbench. WIP rebranding As the title suggests, the Mine-imator brand is currently going through a major rebrand. Voxy and I have had this in mind since early 2017, and was very close to being given to The Community Build if Mine-imator 1.1.0 didn't start development! Since then, Voxy has gradually established a new unique look for the brand and now, we're ready to start rolling it out. Modelbench being the first step, as it served as a good test for trying out what we wanted out of the design changes. (This is why the Modelbench beta looked different from Mine-imator and why promotional images looked unique.) Also, this new look will be one of the last big things I do for Mine-imator and its brand before I leave as a developer. More on what the rebrand entails be revealed in the future. Modelbench 1.0 / Mine-imator 1.2.6 For those who don't know, the Modelbench 1.0 "update" is a complete remake that started back in May. It has since been roughly 6 months and due to the cleaner code, it's coming along great! At the moment I'm wrapping up some of the final features (ones returning from the beta and new ones!). Also, the next updates for Mine-imator and Modelbench will contain changes to bending that will allow smoother bends on larger body parts among other new settings to use in models and some improvements to bent 3D planes. (Which may break some current uses of bent 3D planes, though it will vary depending on how they're used.) Should also be worth noting that some models created in future Modelbench versions may not load in Mine-imator versions prior to 1.2.6 due to changes/new features for models. That is all for now, unfortunately I can't reveal *too* much but rest assured, some big things are coming! And speaking of...1 point -
We Are Still Alive | 4K Cinematic
JasmineChimes reacted to Frost for a topic
Hello everyone. Out of my spare time I have created another wallpaper, in collaboration with @ShotUAnimations. It took me about three days to create the set, do the lighting, and pose each character. ShotU then came in afterwards and inserted all of the characters, added models, fixed a ton of lighting glitches, adjusted asset placement, and rendered the image. Big tips to him for being an epic gamer throughout the making of this. This is also 100% MI. CREDITS: I've had this idea for a while now, and I think it turned out okay. Although, it is pretty messy. Thank you!1 point -

With Disney+ launching tomorrow, I have 2 choices on how to watch The Mandalorian. I could pay $7 a month until the show is over(The Mandalorian in the only thing I'd want Disney+ for until the Marvel stuff starts) Or, I could wait until it's all been released, then pay for 1 month and binge watch it. hmm...option one.1 point -

While it didn't need to get hostile, Mineshaft has a fair point. What he's saying is that it's hard to get people interested in the future of your series if you don't explain/show why they should be interested. Star Wars gets you interested in the rest of the movie because you're put right into the action. You may not know who anyone is, or why they're fighting, but there's immediately clear good guys and bad guys and a fight to be interested in. The Matrix gets you interested in the rest of the movie because Neo is sent some ominous messages through how computer that call him to action. No explanation is needed as to who this is or what it's all for, of course, but there's already a hook for us to get caught on. This strip, by contrast, doesn't immediately give us something to follow. We only know this character isn't supposed to be in this place because you had to explain when someone got confused. It isn't immediately evident what they're even screaming at. It's not a bad idea for a comic series of course, and you've got characters. I really think the problem could be solved simply by having a page instead of a 3-panel strip, or just a few more panels, enough to at least explain that they've clearly been taken from their normal atmosphere and get us invested in the characters themselves. That's just my take. Be nice to each other please, none of you are truly wrong. ?1 point

Theres no need to. The characters are explained really well in the bios he provided, AND he said what the comic series it was based off is. So you saying there's no context makes no sense.1 point
