  1. Ahh, I remember picking up MI back in 2013 after I saw an Antvenom video about it. (The vid) And I've been a part of this very fun community for almost 8 years now, I've got a lot of great memories from here and while I haven't been that active in recent years, I basically grew up here, I joined the forums when I was 11 lol. And it has also been very fun to watch all the skill and talent and the software itself improve over the years. I hope this program continues to bring new talent to light for the foreseeable future. And good luck for all your future endeavours.

  2. hi... i'm here i guess. have this i guess or something. whatever. i hate everyt- COUGH

HELLO! I'm here, been a while, not an edgelord just yet. Got a sudden urge to make some stuff in Mine-Imator once again. No it's not supposed to be fad, I think. Just something that best fits what I was going for ;). Hope you've all been well too, I might visit again, sooner or later.

  3. Had this idea for a while, finally bothered to make it. It's been a while eh? All done in MI again, you really don't need any external programs anymore huh, I remember having to use after effects for almost every effect, I'm OOoolllddddd...

Anyway, I'm not too active with Mine-Imator, so I probably won't do anything for another couple of months, cya for now!

  4. I don't know much about json models, but I'm pretty sure they're only able to be in voxel form. I've tried to import json versions of actual 3D models into MI before but they're always turned into voxels, and you can't raise the voxel count too much or the model just doesn't show up, and MB saves models in the json format. So unless a deformation thing for individual vertices is implemented into MB and MI, then I don't think this'll ever become a thing. Unless MI suddenly supports a new file type to allow actual 3D models, but I can definitely tell you now this'll never be the case.

  5. Looks pretty good, I like it! Shame you stole it from shutterstock.

There are a few things I dislike about it though.

    • It's so low res!!! What the hell, it's 1004x431, what even is that aspect ratio?
    • Some of the textures look quite stretched and or low res (Unless it only looks low res thanks to the image res).
      • Example of a stretched + low res texture:

    • The lighting looks a bit weird, thanks to the faked PCSS I'm guessing? For example, it looks green around the shadows.
    • The shadows look very purple, they should be way more blue and possibly lighter as well. Faked GI would definitely help.
    • I'd say it's hard to make out much from the image, maybe moving the camera back and making it obvious this is the front of a house would help.
  6. This is a video with, like, 1 frame. I'd suggest using imgbox for images, make sure you actually export it as an image first. Then right click on the image and click "Copy Image Location". Then you can just paste it in your post and wait a little bit and it'll embed.

About the image, It's pretty bland, nothing going on at all. And, unless it's intentionally there, you can upgrade Mine-Imator for free here .

HOW CAN YOU DO TESSELATION AND CAUSTICS ON MINE IMATOR TEACH ME SENPAI

    MAGIC!!!!!!

Nah, I've made a tutorial on how to do the tesselation/displacements, which you can check out here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BI26eyno89w_u73vSuwl3PylAHKNbrmGuGJ2Vp0wz3g/edit?usp=sharing, and the caustics is just an item with a caustics texture with glow, glow effected by texture, and only render glow enabled.

i dont really see a point in doing realistic stuff in MI when you could get a much better outcome by using blender.

True, but I like to push MI and see how far I can go with it. I've used blender and I agree that it's vastly superior in every way, but this is fun, and I've yet to get bored of making this stuff in MI.
