  5. I had a lot of passion on this one. I was really riding on it. I simply don't have the spare time to even animate anymore, so I don't think I can finish it now. I may not end up finishing it later since i'd have come up with a new idea by that time. Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed what I tried at the very least.
  6. I gave up on this animation a while ago. I put it here since I may not pick up the torch in a while, but it made significant progress. This was an animation for the first time that I had laid out and planned out, storyboard and all. As more time passed and my life starting moving faster, I felt less attached to this project. Now I don't even feel like picking it up, so the project is all but dead. However in an effort to garner more relevance for fake Internet points, I will let you see what I had created and with some of it's revisions. I was really excited to actually work on this one, the animation i'd hoped would bear fruit. Though my overambition and lack of focus kept me away from the project for so long that I didn't even want to finish what I started. I'm hoping this isn't my one and only thread for this year (as my throne grows ever colder) but we'll see if I get back into things. I'll see how life pans out in the meantime, but maybe college first before animations, yeah? Thanks everyone.
  7. ITT: People argue whether game design and animation design are the same Short answer: No. Long answer: Noooooooooooooo. One is software designed for user input to create works of media, while another is designed for player(s) input for a specified goal. [Definition of a game 1] A proper physics engine is too time consuming and resource intensive to actually add in. So just do your best and animate it. Automated Phenomes (what you are requesting) is not possible. We barely have sound working, so simply do it the hard way. If you want to make the lipsync proccess easier, use a simplier mouth rig like skobbz's rig or nomo's rig which inspired it. Keep in mind that Mine-imator is catered to beginner animators, and works well enough with advanced animators. Though it has clear limitations which have workarounds due to the code language and engine limitations it has. If you can't animate these by hand, switching to a more advanced program would not be wise. Get creative and handle these problems a different way. Hope that clears up things. Sorry man. We can dream, but dreams for this one may stay dreams. Just remember that David is working on another project which may have these in the long future.

  10. Hey @SKIBBZ, got a question here. Do you ever plan to release some of the wallpaper-exclusive rigs you use for people to inspect? I'd really like to see this armor broken down so I can try and make my own rigs to a similar style. (Not like with realism in mind, but a 16-bit style with some detail in mind) The closest I got to that style was this thing, and I think I need a better idea of how to construct my rigs.

  13. Users here with Amazon Prime, what do you have it for? I just got Prime Student, and I am currently on the 6-month free trial, though I dunno what to do with it. What's the best benefit that Prime offers?

      I rarely buy crap off of Amazon, but my mom does, and really the only thing my mom would benifit from is all the Prime-only discounts and deals (most of the time Prime just means Amazon knocks off 5-15% from the price tag, gives you free 2-day or 1-day shipping, or ), but since she buys almost everything for Christmas/birthday parties on Amazon, im pretty sure she'll want to spend the least amount of money possible (Especially in the financial state my family is in right now with owning 2 houses with the primary goal currently being to sell the old one)

      TL;DR: The prime-only discounts can sometimes help in tight situations

  14. So @david, now that you have this snazzy new job from finishing uni, how many days of the week can we expect you to be absent? Since with your absence, some Mine-imator related issues may not get resolved until much later. Can you tell us (or me) about what this new project of yours will be like? You say it's an animation program not strictly limited to Minecraft, nor Gamemaker, though I wish to ask more on this: What engine will it be coded in? Maybe a brand new one ground up from C++? What limits will be removed now that it's in this new engine, like new features can we expect for example? How big will this project be? Will it start from your raytrace project in Uni, or will it be fresh? (assuming the engine is C++) With the release of the community build, and it's two very active developers, do you ever plan to chip in from time to time in any way? (Like offering advice, or even helping code) And one last question, the big one: gimmi ur discord nerd Thanks Dave, and I'll be on the lookout for your next project. You know where to contact me if you need beta testers.
  15. Nope. Even big name studios set-up render farms for their hardcore rendering. You should invest in a mini itx build that only has a good cpu, and ram for that. (GPU helps greatly, but for software like MI, it really doesn't matter.)

If that's not why you are here, then you have no reason to be here. Even if you intend on staying, keep that in mind: this program is why the forums were made in the first place. When making an animation, avoid using yourself as the actor. These are how OCs (Original Characters) get started, and it will make it harder for the video to be original. (Not really a rule, just a suggestion) Don't build hype, build a following. Don't make a fanbase, make an audience. Don't make a short, make a scene. Moderator Related: Respect your mods, or you most likely won't be given any mercy for future punishments Not all mods are the same. Just because one mod is lenient does not mean the other one is. Don't expect a pass from every mod for a small mistake. Even if you think you are winning an argument, you should stop what you are doing and address the situation if mods are involved. While Philosophers are previous chat mods/moderators: They can offer advice on how the system works, they can't police the forums. They are just like any other member. Your Philosopher rank is only a representation of your retired duties. You should only mini-mod is deemed absolutely necessary, but never take advantage of that especially if the mods tell you to stop. Status/Chatroom related: 1.) You do not roleplay in the chat. 2.) You do NOT roleplay in the chat. 3.) Remember the 4 forbidden acronym: RAPE Religion Abortion Politics Economics It's fine to have these brought in a late discussion, but they make terrible icebreakers. Your Cards Against Humanity games better be pretty damn good, or nobody will play. Replacements: 1.) Replace these four rules: One may only post fnoof content if it brings something new to the table, or is very well done Copying REALITY's fight scene will be downvoted, no exceptions. Monster school will be downvoted so hard you will never recover, no exceptions. Put effort into things, don't post something just because "i wanted to post something but im lazy, lol" With: Make your works a bit more distinguishable and original as well as interesting. If it can't stand on it's own, it's not worth sitting down for either. (This includes FNAF, Monster School, Frame-by-frame copies, etc.) Parodies are usually ok, but only as fan-works, nothing more. Reasoning: This one rule pretty much summarizes it well. It tells users to make their work original, and to make it with effort. 2.)   18. All do respect, the animation looks smooth and all. But I simply cannot get behind the FNAF OCs. It just kills the whole vibe for me. The reason the FNAF animatronics were popular initially was because of how uncanny and disturbing, yet real enough they could be in the real world. I couldn't see these in any establishment like how the game is based on. You can't argue that it's not trying to be an offshoot when it's very clear it's based on the game. So I can't give it my upvote. I just can't. It's just nothing original, and I know you tried your hardest to distinguish it enough. I won't go full /b/ on you, but that's my reasoning.
