  1. You're too kind, but you put in the effort so I deserve no credit really. I'm at least glad that there's some good gun rigs being made. And that status for the files? Yeah they're toast. Once Dropbox accounts become inactive for a year, the pending files are put on a 6 month backup until the user reactivates their account. I got to it around 8 months after.
  2. Heya @crustyjpeg this is probably long overdue but just wanna say thanks for bearing the torch of this concept! And hell, you've added twice if not thrice the weaponry than the original. This is beyond what I've ever conceived with the idea of the original.
  3. Hey y'all, I need someone to teach an old user their ways.

Where exactly does one get weapon rigs these days? I know they're probably models now but the site is rather hard to properly navigate.

Modelbench Armory is my go-to, but Piegon99 has a pretty spectacular catalog of more high-res guns with more detail if the visual style of your animation calls for it.

  4. Sadly I lost all of the files. Dropbox is unable to recollect the files. I'll see if there's some other way (maybe like an old laptop) to restore them, but it's probably best to ask around.
  5. Late response, but I'm looking into the issue.

Yeah the Armory links are dead. I'm looking into the issue for all five of you who want it fixed.

The following was sent to my inbox well over a year ago.

This extends to any file I have ever uploaded using Dropbox. This means all files are lost to time, and there isn't much I can do now.
I have however sent out an email requesting access to the account again. I'm not expecting much, but there's still a small shred of hope if you have it.

      Until next time fellas.

  7. Hey man, good luck to this project! I know it's gonna be hard carrying the torch.
  8. Happy new years guys.
These forums have come a long way, and maybe I haven't witnessed every day. But we're all pleased with the progress the program's been making. Here's to another year,

  9. Should probably be a subsection for rigs for the time being. Since rigs conceptually were made in place of what model bench would accomplish.
  10. This build looks and feels much more polished than the last one. A thing I noticed was that the timeline has a striped pattern as things get added in to tell where things are while working which is a nice little touch. Though one thing that wasn't documented was how the performance tanked compared to the last official build. For comparison, I loaded this schematic and here's how they faired on the default settings: 1.0.6 1.10 prerelease This one frame drop is clearly unacceptable and I hope you guys change this before the final release. It would be a shame to see the hard work going into this for the performance impact this has to become a major source of friction for the community. Thank you guys for your hard work and dedication to the program, even after 4 years of this community's growth.

  13. I smell a rig creation tool soon. I mean, what other feature could be more requested? dont you dare say mocap ya lazy bums
  14. Well, there's a few ways to make a Remington 870. You can have a magpul variant like so.. the well-known marine variant, or the classic wingmaster model. It's a gun I plan to do someday (along with the deagle) but I need some time with life taking so much damn priority these days.
  15. wrong image bro I'm not sure what you mean by pseudo lens flares. I can only think of that weird battlefield 3 effect with the lens dirt:
  16. Needs more lens flares. I can still see the image wtf
  17. AIght. I see now. Sorry for being so rude about it, i was getting clouded by this whole thing is all. (That doesn't make much sense, but I can't really take back what I said) I hope to see more of what you can make.
  18. I don't see why I have to say all that just to get a proper response about it. I'm aware that you didn't intend to cause harm, but when he was asking about it, you weren't very forthcoming with his responses. Many (myself included) may assume you were aiming for tension. The fact that @Nimi also claimed there was some underlying tension doesn't help this case either. But to ask him a question, using a wallpaper of something he already did? You're asking a question using a thick concept, and no matter your intentions, it's just going to invite this kind of discussion. If this question was that important, why not consult him first? There has to be a reason you made a topic about it, since you don't seem to see it as a parody of the wallpaper.
  19. You need to re-evaluate your stance on this. You can't seriously be making this just because SKIBBZ has gotten more attention with his work, and you want to jab at how he does it? Give me a goddamn break. If someone had the potential and they knew it but quit because they were keeping score and someone else got more likes than them? That's their own fault. Countless times I've seen him try to put other animators who put in hardcore effort into their work, along with some of the other well-known people into the spotlight. Hell, I give a like or two to those that try. But when they fall off the face of the earth because I give them constructive criticism? Then there was nothing I could have said that would help them improve. Only a few people unlock their potential, and they become regular posters. Hell, I was a regular because I posted a lot (and I still do, just not much content so to speak of) and SKIBBZ is as regular as they come. He worked his ass off as long as I did to get where we are now. (I said we, as in being in the top 5) and if having sooo much trouble while having so much net-worth as a member doesn't mean anything to you, then just stop reading this. This isn't about the original message, and you know this to be true. The rest can be summed up with what @Emaniplex said. He has valid points, that one. We should aim to be as diverse as possible, since that's how "real" animation goes anyhow. (I put real in quotes since people think 3D animation can't be as varied as 2D, but I disagree on that one.) Just make something that shines and don't step on anyone along the way. It's a hobby for most, and being this cutthroat for something someone does for free is one thing, and offering constructive criticism is another. Be the adult here and just accept that he does it differently. You don't have to even agree, because I don't agree with some of his methods either. I'm just not aiming to cause tension when I say it.
  20. SKIBBZ doesn't own the idea of spark particles, bucko.
  21. A faithful recreation of one of my favorite whiteknight wallpapers. Though it's got some issues: There's some wierd SSAO and shadow stuff going on with the shield. Got rectangles instead. Try upping the sunlight range Poses are a bit inaccurate. The knight's left arm isn't more forward, but sticks out. His shield is in the wrong orientation. The princesses' arm doesn't appear to make full contact FOV need to be modified. Yeah, it needs to properly convey the scene. Having the ground visible The eyes, as mentioned, are a bit too low. I figured this was from the facial rig (since the eyes lower, which isn't really something that eyes don't do. Try to focus the eyes closing more on the center of their original position, since they don't follow rules for human eyes. And lastly.. uh.. that cape. That dress.. with those shoes? They clash far too much with a minecraft style. I know it's been said a lot, but don't use realistic capes or whatnot to save time. A wallpaper should stay consistent with it's scene. My assumption is that a decision like that must have been done to save time. Detail is key here. That said, I really like that most of the scene is in tact here. I would really like this more, but these things just irk me. I can't in good will love it with these glaring flaws. Please keep what I say as friendly criticism, and not me bagging on your wallpaper.
  22. Yeah. Tor is heavily used for that reason alone. That sucks, i hope some more attention is brought to the matter in the next few years. It seems like it's actually bad for trade, so China may let up on their rules in the future. (Here's hoping)
