I just realized I might not be home later this week to compile the results of the April 2019 Mine-imator Forums Survey into a topic after the responses stop coming in. Would you all be okay if I started it a day or two earlier? April 1st is worrying because people might think it's a joke, so it'd have to be today.

@__Mine__Not yet, but if I started it in 2 days I might not be at home 2 a few days after to share the results and everyone would have to wait much longer. So I'm asking if it's okay to start it early, maybe today.

Why is it so damn hard to play Minecraft now? Every minute I spend in there I'm reminded of some instance of a long summer night working on a base because I just couldn't put it down, or building gladiator pits just for the prospect of glorious fights taking place, or setting up little adventures for my siblings inside our combined world. Nowadays I get at Mojang for not making any progress on the game in all these years, but going back and just playing survival for 20 minutes, it's kind of a good thing. If I opened up the crafting bench one day and suddenly it was a long Terraria-like list or I suddenly had to melt down components in a forge, anything other than the familiar 3x3 grid, I would be genuinely sad. If diamonds suddenly didn't spawn at Y=17 and you could find them anywhere without needing to dig a pit and strip mine for hours, I would be genuinely upset, because there was something about doing these trivial tasks for hours and hours that made me do them, and that same something is what made Minecraft a home, or an escape for some.
Idk, Minecraft is something special and we'll never get another. It makes me a little sad that what was such a big segment of my life is really just a video game, now owned by a huge corporation that shoves microtransactions and awful marketing into what was just a passion project by a small group of people, just for fun. And now they're removing all traces of the original creator from the game, pretty much sealing its fate. It's not Minecraft anymore, it's an empty husk of what was once my home. This Minecraft is not the Minecraft that's in my heart. The Minecraft in my heart is a collection of memories, and it sucks that they're just memories.
Idk.

Minecraft.
Mine and Craft. Thanks to the stone cutter, a big part of the crafting is gone to a boring click and.. click again I guess.
The mining part is lacking a lot, the underground of Minecraft is boring and we're still needing a cave makeover.Right now, Minecraft feels more like a Grindbuild than anything. The core elements that made Minecraft popular are basically gone, the crafting book was already not that much of a good idea, but apparently complaining about the fighting mechanics is the only thing the players care about.
We'll see how it goes I guess...

Side note: Kinda pisses me off when brand new users get downvoted to oblivion when they post a Fortnite dance move or something, or even just a lower-quality animation. You're well within your right to downvote things you dislike, but sometimes it's just "Jesus, that's a little unnecessary." What's wrong with doing what you like to do to make something you also like? They're kids goddammit. I'm not saying you should upvote it, or like it at all, but I don't think it's very helpful to downvote and leave. That makes them feel like they're doing something wrong, which they're not.
Or when someone new comes in and says "Hey, I'm having this issue with the program where I can't see the editing arrows anymore," and people reply "Dude, it's not a problem with the program, it's a problem with you," or "Seriously? It's not that hard to fix my man," without actually answering the question. Come on, that's just stupid. What good does that actually do? Just answer his damn question or don't reply at all, he's posting for an answer to his question. We were all in their shoes at one point, and even if you weren't, there's absolutely no reason to insult them for not being fully acquainted with the program. And like before, you're trying to make them feel like they're doing something bad or that they're at fault for something, which they're not.
Like, what's the point in saying anything if it's not helpful? And I know that sounds really dumb but seriously. I'm not saying everything you say should be kind, just that why do anything if it doesn't help you or anyone else? It's just dumb to do useless things. And it's kinda shitty to make people think they're doing something harmful for something as stupid as a Minecraft version of a Fortnite dance. It's a huge blow to your self-esteem and turns a lot of people away from animating at all. And that really sucks.
Idk, kind of a lazy and indirect two cents

So I made a 3 hour and 43 minute meme video involving a huge compilation of Mine-imator related stuff, but I had it so every time there was a cut in the footage it would layer this on top of the next 3 minutes. The only problem is, Men Without Hats have a very persistent legal team and my video is completely blocked from all countries (even unlisted), after 2 days of editing, 18 hours of rendering it, and 6 hours of uploading to YouTube. Maybe I'll upload it to Vimeo or something but my disappointment is immeasurable.
-
@ThatGuyBrian I actually just might do that if Vimeo slaps me too

the momo thing reminds me of the tide pod challenge: non-existent. and also overblown by the news to make it seem like an actual widespread issue.
