@Voxy I'd argue with it being better than diamond and hard to obtain, making it follow normal rules with armor crafting makes it that much more worth it. Especially since you have a chance to find it in Piglin Bastions afaik

Potentially contriversial Minecraft opinion:
Nether portals should slowly transform the ground around it inot netherack and magma.
I only say this since the ruined portal structures, which have been there for a very very long time, have netherrack around it.
I don't mean that you go mining, or exploring, come back home and oh no, everything is netherrack. I mean a really really slow, and managable rate.
Could be a detail or somthing, Idk.

Allow me to explain in a bit more detail.
(even though it was pretty clear lmao)
When you grow a giant spruce, ya know, 4 sapplings at once to make a big tree, it makes podzol around it.
When you light a nether portal, any blocks around it on all sides within lets say, a 5 block radius but it never goes deeper than a block into a wall if its underground. so you now have a nether portal that essentially creates an area of netherrack and magma and what not in the same fashion as a giant spruce.

In case you miss it, I made probably my one of my best wallpapers from this year. This wallpaper is actually inspired by my greatest friend who I'm meeting up with at a hotel in January. We plan to explore the woods near the hotel which, the woods have a railroad close to them.
Fun fact: it almost crashed my entire computer twice because of the railroad model.-
