This might sound rude, but what's with the whole furry thing? I don't get it at all? Do you just really like animals and drawing animals as people? If so, why do you have to identify as something because of it? I like Magic: The Gathering but don't identify as a Leonin Planeswalker. Or is it the fetish thing? Or do you legit identify as an animal? Like, what compels you to call yourself a furry? I know a few Furries in real life, but they are bizarre as hell; one tried showing me 'questionable' furry pictures. You seem reasonable enough though, so I figured you'd have an answer.

I agree with Ethan, if you force it on anyone that's when you cross a line. I don't hate you for being a furry, I don't hate the LGBTQ+ community because they're that way. The few people I've met from the LGBTQ+ community haven't tried to force it on me at all.
For me it's a "You do you, as long as I can be me" type of thing.

Got my first speeding ticket a few minutes ago. Honestly, though, I had been having a rough night before that, but the officer that pulled me over was so nice and understanding about everything that it actually improved my evening.

Is your profile picture a low poly version of Shark Tale's main character?

I'm happy with most of the election results in my state, save for the fact that the minimum wage is being raised. I'm ready for what used to be a relatively good job to now be an average job, for the value of the money I already have to go down, and for companies to raise their prices/fire people in response to having to pay their employees way more.

This has nothing to do with mineimator, but I'm very excited! I didn't realize that there are affordable options for belt sanders available! I've been working in a foundry for over a year now, and I've often thought about how useful one of the Burr Kings we have there would be, but those things are $1,000-$3,000 at least. I was looking at dremels, and decided to look up belt sanders too. I found some less heavy-duty ones for $80-$130, so now I'm ecstatic! I make puppets, and I'm wanting to branch into making marionettes, so it'll be great! I don't need an industrial-grade sander, either, so the lower power won't be an issue. I'm really wanting to start making molds and castings too, soon; going to make things like puppet hands and maybe some miniatures.
-
The whole process of making molds/cores is super interesting, by the way. I work primarily in shakeout, but I've done some time on the machines too. We actually are getting into 3-D printing molds and cores with sand now, though that's primarily for testing out new part designs or for limited runs that we won't be doing all the time and don't need to spend thousands of dollars on tooling for them.

I was trying to figure out what your username used to be (you've been around long enough that I should know you from way back when I used mineimator still), and I started to feel self-conscious reading your old comments and remembering mine... The cringe...

Justin Bieber Animations?

Y'all need to chill about the whole rep thing. Dislike what you dislike, like what you like, use your "up-rep" and "down-rep" in moderation, and if someone gets mad about it, don't even respond. It isn't worth arguing about. Same goes for if someone just doesn't get what you're trying to tell them. Make your point if necessary and then move on. You people are overreacting to all of this.

That moment when you intend to go to sleep, but get sidetracked and watch three episodes of Star Trek instead.

I don't know if any of y'all care for plays, but this is a song I think about a lot from the first musical I saw:
-
Y'all need to calm down with the constructive criticism. Not that you should stop giving it, but work on the delivery a bit. You don't have to be all business-like and point out every flaw in every animation posted by a new user... Also, when people react badly, don't flip out and get defensive. It's unnecessary in the extreme. Say your piece and be done; don't respond to them being indignant (if that's how they respond), it doesn't help anything. They might be wrong for getting mad, but it doesn't show any better character in you when you respond in kind or draw out an argument like I've seen happen here. You're the older members, be the example, not part of the problem.

Even jerks' insults are constructive criticism if you've thick skin and know how to deal with hate.
For example, if someone says that your animation is awful and slow, you can perhaps work on pinning down what exactly makes them say it's "slow and awful"
You could experiment with different types of animations and figure out which get hated and which doesn't.
It all boils down to figuring out what people do and don't like. Then play with those expectations.

Oh hey, do any of you slightly older members remember ZackKevin12? I forgot about him until just now...

Some dude was walking in the dark on a very windy and narrow backroad when I was on my way home from work today. He had his back to oncoming traffic, too. The only reason I saw him was because he had a little device that blinked intermittently. Gave me a right good scare, it did.

I don't understand why people post videos of themselves doing nice things online. It's like they only did it to get attention and approval. I think that if a person really is nice and good, they'll do nice and good things even when they won't be applauded for it; that they won't go looking for praise. It reminds me of the Bible verse that says that when you do good that you shouldn't boast in it like the Pharisees did, but that you should do it in secret, that your right hand might not know what the left is doing.

Oh, well that wasn't the main point anyways. I don't think you have to be a Christian to see that doing a good thing to boast in it isn't very savory.

It is very important to put the fireworks into the mortar, my friends, and not onto the ground. Do not forget this step, lest you be consumed by the fiery tempest.

My friends, do not shave your eyebrows. It is an exceedingly bad idea.

Why are most of you guys so harsh on everyone's posts? Seriously, it's getting out of hand... I'm surprised people still post things here; I'd expect them to be scared off by the rudeness you guys exhibit.

@Deminu: Then don't say anything... If it's bad, you have nothing good to say, and if it's obviously terrible, they don't need you to point it out because they already know. Now, if you have constructive criticism that you can put in a non-insulting and a non-rude way, with encouragement, that's different.

On the topic of teams:
Teams only fail when their members are not communicating properly; as that leads to confusion, arguments, and the eventual disbanding of the team. If a team wanted to succeed, I'd say they should be a small group, not a large one, as the more people there are, the harder it is to keep a steady line of communication. They should also be familiar with one another, or at least on friendly terms. They would need to actually work on projects, and be serious about it, with an established assembly line and a deadline as well, so everyone on the team knows exactly who is doing what and when it will be time for them to do their own task. They would also be prudent to keep their projects under-wraps until they're done with them, to avoid the typical: "We're going to make a huuuuge animation guys!... Wait, nevermind. Sorry, we got lazy/sidetracked/whatever, so we're not going to do it anymore."
And finally, if someone wants to leave the team, or the team does disband, for whatever reason, there should not be drama about it. That way, if the person ever wants to return to the team, or if the team wants to reform, they can do it without facing embarrassment or the mockery of others.- Show previous comments 2 more

@Keep on Chucking @Skjold Maybe you two should chat about it in a skype call or something. Not on the forums. And besides, voice chatting makes arguments much more difficult.
-
@Upgraded Moon Meh. It was just be being a total jerk and such and therefor got kicked off the team. That simple.

Why do people here use the emoticon so often? The context in which it's used always makes what people are saying sound incredibly rude...
