Yeah, problem is when you go pitch dark you need tons of different lights all over the place, for now i'll deal with it. Looks like 1.3.0 is the real deal, fixes many things. I just hope we also get the "sticky object" on the timeline to have the camera timeline visible at all times. The only thing missing would be to fix the alpha rendering but I assume it's just impossible at this point. And a feature I would like is a quicker way to make round trajectories. Right now you have to add a folder on top of the character and awkwardly place it next to a corner until the angle fits well with the curve you want the character to travel.. anyway this is offtopic. I just start imagining things I would like when I see 1.3.0 mentioned.

I never use the default night in Mine-imator. Just use the method I explained for night time (darkening the ambient color and using spotlights for moonlight, and darkening the sky/fog color).

  2. Adding onto what Voxy said...

1.3 is coming around mid-2021, so for now, the best thing to do would be to fake day/night time by setting the sunlight color to black and using spotlights and the ambient color for all your lighting instead. If you still want the sky colors as well without moving around the default sun, you can change the sky color manually and you can add in a fake sun with a sun texture on a surface. If all you can find is the sun texture on a black background, you can set the surface's "blend mode" to "screen" and it will remove all the black.

I like it how it is! There's nothing wrong with a round pie, as long as it's pixelated. Besides, Minecraft cakes cut a bit awkwardly anyway.

This just doesn't fit with minecraft. Minecraft isn't a voxel game, and this pie model is very voxelized and has a high surface count. It just doesn't match anything.

Here's a good reference to go off of when it comes to modeling round objects.

This was fun to read, but I think it's time to intervene.

I always try to take a step back and understand both sides of the argument. I definitely understand both points of view. On one hand, I agree with the others. The model itself is a bit uncanny and odd to look at, and the textures are objectively bad compared to something like vanilla Minecraft's textures, but this doesn't mean he has to listen to you. In the end, he can do what he wants. All we can do is give our opinions, and he can choose for himself if he wants to take them into consideration.

People got defensive and aggressive on both sides, so there's no need to point fingers. How about we don't let this happen a third time?

We dont do commissions  here unfortunately  but you should try to make it yourself so you can improve

There is a subforum named "requests" although they posted in modelbench creations for whatever reason. Almost no requests are actually fulfilled. Usually the comments are full of people new to the forums telling them to model it themselves.

Anyways, you didn't give us nearly enough information. If you have a specific character in mind, you need to tell us in as much detail as possible. We can't read your mind.

  6. Alright, here's some of my criticism.

The lighting is very flat, and it feels as if everything in the scene is illuminated. The areas inside the bookshelves should be pretty dark. You should try experimenting with the ambient color for some darker shadows. It will also highlight the sun rays even more, giving a more warm and cozy feel.

Now that I look at it, I don't exactly see any shadows besides the one being cast on the floor from the sunlight.

Some dust particles would look great in the light rays. They're pretty easy and simple to set up.
