What amuses me is that ya'll are getting riled up over something Hayao Miyazaki didn't even say [however he did express displeasure for the current way anime was going in an interview]. Also, by the time he was BORN, anime had already been a thing for almost a quarter of a century.
(EDIT: However, what he was saying in the interview was skepticism towards the current state of anime as an art form, and distaste towards how newer animators weren't bothering to observe real human behaviors and interactions.)

@SDWAN I see what you mean, It still doesn't hurt to be nice to people. I used to be your average rude commentator before I had a YouTube channel. I was an ifunny-er (Phone app). I realized how annoying I would be if I were to talk to what I used to be. I'd probably snap my own neck if I confronted myself like I was years ago.
So I chose to change you know. It was pretty much a phase for me. Tap-out thug shirts and flatbills for life. That's changed now, I prefer this new way, even though I could get assertive if it has to come to that level.
-
@KicksBrickster being nice and respectful doesn't always mean you'll earn respect every now and then. in my own school. I am one of the few nicest people there compared to others, but im not always being around friends 24/7 because most people don't just see being respectful as a important thing
@SKIBBZ Times change...
-
@SDWAN I'll admit that, but you can try. If they don't give you that respect, then it's their own fault, not yours.
And I suppose it depends on where you live. Where I live if you show respect, others do as well. If that's not the case where you live then I can see where you're coming from.

Because society has always been scared of teenagers? Order is a very fragile illusion that relies on compliance, and teens are machines built specifically to do the opposite, to rebel - of course our elders will underestimate and degrade the generation they aren't a part of, we're terrifying concoctions of everything they long to be again!

@abdullah1579 thats just rude, SDWAN isnt always rude and puts criticism on everything he sees.
-
@abdullah1579 We aren't saying you guys aren't intelligent for liking the game, we're just sick and tired of you guys shoving it into our faces, then saying we're the bad guys for asking a simple question.
And I don't even have that problem with everyone who likes the game, hell, my best friend loves the game and I don't criticize her. It's really only the people on this forum that do it 24/7, which is what makes most of us mad.
.. And aren't you criticizing SDWAN for asking a question that he probably didn't even want to start drama with?
-
But criticizing a fanbase is plain ridiculous!
A 5n@f fan isn't an entire different species of creature, with it's own set of predictable behaviours influenced by the fandom! A 5n@f fan is a fellow human being just like you! Even criticizing an individual fan on the basis of being a fan is unfair!
Now, gentlemen, don't take me wrong. I believe in criticism, as long as it's not presented in an outright offensive way (the way some of you label as honest). But as I just said, criticizing a fanbase is foolish!
Also, @MustardBlock, how have I shoved the game in your face?
-
Why do most people never criticize popular guys?

@The Tan James Eh, it just irks me how crude it looks and how you're praised like God. But there's no doubt that you still deserve some praise. I wished you touched it up a bit like you did with the other scenes.
-
Bruh i put tons of effort into it. Yeah i'll admit its not as good as concept 1, but i still put effort into it.
Also this shouldn't be about the so called "Praise" that i get. all it is is people saying they enjoyed my content. If people are all oh i wanna talk to you and meet you type stuff then that's their choice. Doesn't mean i'm comfortable with it but they have the freedom to say what they want.
-
And this is what I mean. These "famous" people put the time and effort to make these things. When it comes down to it, it is nitpicking, just by the sheer amount of work put into everything else.
The truth is most of these people have no reason to make their content ooze quality, as they're not getting paid, but they do it anyway for the most of the animation. When these people make a mistake, they almost always know it. It might be because the time-put-in to output ratio being large or that they just couldn't continue with such a large project anymore.

@BOOMmaker the thing with religion is, it's only made up so that people can feel save, have a reason to behave well, but alot of people take this the wrong way and start doing bad stuff around it, spreading it to people that don't want to believe in their religion and then decapitating them, most humans have opinions and think their opinion is the truth this causes wars and such, it's why the romantic empire fell, world war 2 and 3 (aka the isis problem) stuff like this is why I despise of modernday religion and choose to be an atheist.
Also i understand jesus isn't made up, but for all we know he was just some scammed that does magic tricks, or a time traveler or something.

I guess im the only one who doesn't need an OC for anything

The character I use for things and how I am represented was called an 'OC' today. Which has me thinking:
I assume that if your character skin doesn't look like you and it engages in actions that you wouldn't it's an OC of some kind.
I find it silly though since that skin is an Avatar. It's just a way to present myself on the internet. But it's not representing my character or anything. Though this is a whole different can of worms.
I can see the appeal in having OC's and Roleplaying. I just assume you don't SDWAN, which is what spawns that opinion. (And thats perfectly fine)
But lately not liking trends it in itself a trend now thanks to it being roughly half-and-half across the forums. Which is the highest irony I've ever seen. (Never forgetti the square vs circle vote results)

@Aronan separate specular textures, the use of .tgas instead of the .vtf|( Valve Texture Format), That brand new revamped material editor( check the status below this one), Cloth bone joints (I haven't figured out how to apply them just yet) in engine model editing for hitboxes, and shading types, Source 2 filmmaker has switchable resoultions, Ambient Occlusion actually affects everything this time, optional dynamic world lighting. Hammer 2.0 is actually more propertional and polygonial based, it has infinite bone support (since models aren't entirely compiled before Source reads them. in engine compilations in the model viewer, and much more to find out here...
Only thing missing though are a bunch of shaders (it undertandable though. its tools for Dota 2 anyway so there's no problem. There is no visible HDR either for some reason

@SDWAN If you know someone like this, then you'll see how frustrating it is. I tell her this almost every time when she'd have an issue with her life. I'd tell her that it's what she's doing to herself that's making the issue worse. She drinks, she smokes, she's constantly "in the mood" (and hanging out with these type of guys is not a smart choice), and she does bad things with her "stoner friends" (Yeah I chose wisely). She just... hangs out with bad people and does bad things. I would report this to her father but I'm not a snitch and that would make it worse upon her by limiting herself even more than what she already goes through. Which is her fault and I've pretty much stopped caring at this point because I tell her to stop and tell her what it can and how it doesn't help you (Maybe temporarily), but she just does it again. I'm just going to stick to my life and do what I do. I've tried to help her but she just does it again when she gets the opportunity.
When I meant by "if you know someone like this", I meant someone that says they'll stop then do it the next day.
Oh and thanks for listening to my story, I've been kind of wanting to get this off my chest. Even though the whole forums could know about some of my personal life now.
-
@SKIBBZ Damn dude. You had a pretty rocky relationship there. Sad that you couldn't change anything from her life . Might just wanna meet some new people that you are more comfortable with so you wan't have to worry as much as you were before and hopefully you have admitted to her how you feel about her

Hopefully you C4D users actually model stuff in it and not just download rigs off the internet

" I would think somebody who's using C4D because they want to would already know what to do, unless they were getting into it for the first time to join a majority... "
No, imo that's not how it works, especially the part about people using c4d because they want to would mean they already know what to do, when I got into mine-imator I used it because I wanted to and I had NO idea what I was doing, maybe other people saw skibbz do it, and wanted to try it out for themselves, not because they look up to him, but because maybe it's something they found interesting and wanted to try out, oh and also if it's to join a majority what's the harm in that? as long as they find it fun I find no harm in it.
also you didn't say this but i'm just talking generally, switching over from one simple modeling progrgam to a more complicated more advanced one isn't bad, just because you start with one program doesn't mean you have to stay with it your whole life.
-
@Emanatronic Are you that dense? I wasn't too much interested in Cinema 4D when I had it. I've usually used it for text art and didn't really want to do much with it. To be honest, you're making my switch easier. The group that I'm in has chatted and decided to learn about C4D together. And why boast about how long your best animation took you? Do you think it makes much of a difference on your part? You don't know how long SKIBBZ has had and has used C4D. Not to mention he has a very good mentor to help him. I don't care at this point. You've lost all respect from me. I'm not going to respond anymore, since I don't feel like repeating myself. People are switching, get over it.
-
@Sirflufferb0t This is weak. And no, my problem isn't why or how people are switching, as you say, which is utterly false by the way, but when they're "switching."
I don't call making screenshots switching. Maybe in the future people will get better and make decent things with C4D, but that isn't happening right now.
@Japnoo What I'm saying is that if someone has had C4D for a long time and liked it, they should know how it works. If they're barely learning how it works, then I would declare this a fad. At least for now.

A good way to earn some bucks (which is what I'm doing now) is to start a reviewing website. You can get smaller, less well-known companies to start providing you products whilst you review them. After that you get to sell them on and make profit from both ad revenue and their product.
The only thing you will have to pay for is the domain and hosting - The rest is free!
-
@Mooshim Good I dea, but I'd rather start some business classes before I do that
