How do you pronounce GIF?
1. G-I-F
2. Giff
3. Jiff
4. Jeff -
Black lives matter.
But so do police lives.
It seems to me like many of these supposed "anti-bigotry" movements, as good as their intentions may be, tend to act as an excuse for a lot of people to just point their bigotry in a different direction. It's not getting rid of it, it's just distracting from it by saying it's for a good cause.
And at the moment, the BLM movement is basically saying that all police are evil, racist, horrible people and they should be gotten rid of. That's just as ridiculous as saying that someone is inferior because of the color of their skin. These people are just trying to do their jobs. And all this supposed "police violence?" What the media isn't telling you is that the protesters are the ones being violent, and forcing the law enforcement to respond. Yes, people have a right to protest. To protest. Not to form an angry mob, going around vandalizing things and hurting innocent people.
Alright, my rant is over. You can go look at other stuff now XD

Boy, I really feel bad for all of those peaceful protesters who have to deal with the national guard for no conceivable reason.

I nearly have enough spending money to buy a windows mixed reality VR headset for the sole purpose of playing minecraft on!
(I mean, seriously, what else would you use technology for?)

the only reason I took the Windows MR one is because I couldn't use the others. Gear VR is ok, but I'm not going to go buy a specific-brand phone when all I want is a VR headset. as for Oculus Rift... it's awesome! unfortunately, my PC isn't. The minimum requirements are unreachable, so at the very least it would be incredibly laggy. but for Windows MR, it's the most affordable for me, it doesn't need a bunch of other stuff, and when I researched more, I found out that my PC has the perfect specifications to run it! and yes, I know that the controllers aren't the most comfortable, but I have also heard a lot of praise for it, and of course it can run MC no problem.
so yeah.

A Sad Story:
When I was a kid, I could sing perfectly. Then puberty happened.

Last night, I watched Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse for the first time.
It was one of the best... extremely weird movies I've ever watched.

@EnderFrameStudios TM Yeah, I noticed. @Spontaneous Explosions I'm guessing you didn't like it because of the weird speech bubbles and the text "sound effects"?
-
@Spontaneous Explosions Yeah, I get that. I guess the whole point of it was to be unusual, though. The idea was to combine a bunch of different animation styles, so that it was sort of halfway between realistic and stylized.

This year, all I really want for Christmas is to be able to play Minecraft in VR with shaders, and have it not be a lagfest.
So basically, I'm going to be disappointed.

Yeah. I agree with that. Also, pretty much all laptops I've seen have a maximum of an RTX 2060, if I remember correctly. Really, most of what I'm worried about with a desktop is the construction process, since I've had no experience with that. And I don't want to get one prebuilt, since it will likely end up being more money for less quality.
-
Am I the only one who sees MC Dungeons as more of a gimmick than anything? Because it seems to go against the whole point of Minecraft, what with open worlds and focusing on creativity more than combat.

@__Mine__ I actually kind of like the animation style. It seems more true to the base game- it does have bending, but only rarely and only 90 degrees. It is quite sloppy, though, and while I do try to do something similar with my renders (and sometimes animations) it's not exactly the same. And yeah, I don't like the "floaty-limbs" part.
-
hey look I finally changed my pfp to something that may or may not be better than my last one
I made it myself btw

After seeing what amazing "automatic bridge builder" contraptions people have made with basalt, I think that all Mojang will have to do to make redstone enthusiasts happy forever is add a redstone machine that places blocks.

k i see i shouldn't have posted this in the first place. sorry for the inconvenience, at the time i had just read the article and was therefore overcome by a debilitating illness known as hype. i will now delete this post and create a new, improved sequel.
p.s. @MojangYang yes, i think hytale does look like 3D terraria, but i do not consider that a flaw. mostly because terraria has connected textures and trees that don't look blocky, which i like.
-
oh sry @MojangYang it's just kinda hard to tell over text and also most of the posts here are negative, as you can see

Today I got a display tablet I ordered! Can't wait to start drawing with it, but at the moment it's 10:44 PM where I live and I need to go to bed.

I just got my Samsung Odyssey+ Windows Mixed Reality VR headset.
And I don't care if some people say it's not worth it, because in my opinion, it is absolutely freaking awesome.
also I can play minecraft on it, so that's a bonus.

Can't find any flaws with head tracking.
the controllers get a bit buggy if you take them fully out of view, but this is because WMR uses cameras for controller tracking and it's kinda unavoidable on any WMR headset. It's also barely even a problem, since you rarely ever need to put a controller behind you.
but roomscale is simply amazing. it requires no base stations, just a setup that takes less than 2 minutes. It can also be reset at any time. It is completely unobstructive, just showing a transparent boundary when your controllers or headset get too close to a wall. And even though the cord isn't very long, for most applications, it doesn't need to be.
also, just checked again. The current (limited time!) discount for a Samsung Odyssey+ at the official dell website is only $230. That's less than some of the Amazon prices for the Lenovo Explorer.
Hope this helps!

I just got Terraria
It's fun
My mind is made up: if Minecraft is great, and Terraria is awesome, then Hytale (being sorta a combo of both) will be perfect.

@MojangYang I didn't say there wasn't, there was no particular need for a downvote. MC is still my fave, especially with the nether update coming.

Coronavirus isn't really that big of a deal. It only affects people who already have health problems, so I know I'm safe.
But it is nice to have everything cancelled

Exactly.
It is a definite and serious problem, but it's been blown completely out of proportion due to all of the panic-buyers and hoarders treating this whole thing like the zombie apocalypse is approaching.
-
I should probably clarify, @9redwoods . I meant, it's nice to not have my week full of unnecessary things that clog up my schedule.
I do not in any way mean that the Coronavirus is OK.

I just made my first basic character rig from scratch in blender!
It's going to be refined later, but for a basic model I'm really proud of it!
- Show previous comments 3 more
-
Yeah, well, blender is free, and it can still do a whole lot of stuff, so I'm sticking with it XD
-
Zyn that sounds very biased
Being a free and open source program, Blender can achieve just as much as C4D, 3DS and Maya. Recent updates and changed to the UI made it very easy and intuitive to use. They also have a large and well established community.
I mean, ok, C4D could be somewhat better, has somewhat more photorealistic render engines. But does that even matter here? Is it relevant? Draco is sharing his 3D creations, not comparing softwares. And is that tiny improvement worth it for 100$/month?
Oh, and why are you even here then? I mean, mine-imator is free and it's far from as good as blender and even further from C4D. Go rent C4D then.
Sorry for losing my cool. Just want to get my opinion out once.

YAY new snapshot!
I love the grimstone, (and how many variants of it there are,) I love the new ore textures, and I love the new generation!
Though, I still think that the Deep Dark should be... well, deeper. At the moment, it takes up basically all of that space that Mojang just added, so it's still not that far down. I think it should take real effort to get to. I can dig down to bedrock with a stone pickaxe in about an hour in previous versions, I don't want it to be that easy to get to such a cool new area.
Also, the ores still need some work, they contrast badly with the grimstone but they still generate in it.
Mineshafts being held up by chains are cool, though. It's a small detail, but it's a good one.

An hour to dig to Bedrock?

@tditdatdwt That's just a quick, very rough estimation. I don't do a whole lot of survival.

Hey i was wondering what exactly is your profile pic/gif? sorry if i should have known already

Hey peeps i finally got Minecraft Earth!! and it's FREAKING AMAZING!!! however, whenever i leave my home WiFi area and try to get tappables, it says that i have to be connected to a wireless network which, unless i'm mistaken, makes NO SENSE because you're supposed to go outside of WiFi to explore the map for more tappables and adventures! does anybody have any ideas? ;-;

My reactions to 1.15, in chronological order:
Yay! new update! hope it's good!
Ugh, the bees look so stupid...
Yay! honey blocks are the best thing ever!
Ugh, the "Buzzy Bees" update? really, mojang?
Yay! it's over!
Ugh, but now we have to wait for the nether update?

@MicrogamerCz well they've kinda taken over 1.12 too, that's also the most compatible with resourcepacks, and there have been updates to modding APIs to give 1.14 more mods.
still, my favorite modpack ever is direwolf20 1.7.10. so yeah.

Have you heard of gauGAN? It's a free demo software by NVIDIA that creates photorealistic landscapes from a simple paint image. It's also really fun to use!
You can find it here.
To give you an idea of what you can do with it, here are two images I made:
Note: both of these were made in minutes. And you can do a lot better than this.
