For any veteran members out there, what do you really mean when you say that the community feels "dead"?
Idk I've said it myself more than once but honestly I feel like at this point the term seems to be thrown around a little too much every now and then. Like, really, think about it twice, what do you really mean when you say the MI forums are "dead"?

@-StickyMations- I already have sent David a few messages regarding this status and the replies in it about two hours ago. (He is AFK/Asleep/Busy/offline though atm)
I sent this discussion to him almost immediately after viewing it.
It's always good when people collectively list their opinions in a constructive way, especially when it can be used to improve things. So you can be sure, one way or another, he'll be viewing it.

Many of the previously active users who have grown close and accustomed to each other and also those who have the most experience in animation or creating quality content have left, or are at least inactive. Because the forums have gotten bigger, it's become less close-knit, and most of the people I see posting on the forums (how infrequently I check it) I've never seen before.
It's a mixture of who you call "veterans" not wanting to put in the effort to get to know new users, and those veterans not being present in the first place.

I wouldn't call myself a veteran, I'm still learning this program, and I've been here for almost 3 damn years.
But back on topic, every now and then I go back and read the older forums posts, or browse the topic history of older forums members to see what it was like back then. I can agree the forums isn't as active, and it's fad galore, but every now and then, you find that one new member who just shows potential, skill, and promise. Take TheCollieStalks, or mbanders for example. They are both fairly new, but that have what i mentioned, Potential, Skill, Promise. We have seen what they can do.
And Fad may be all over the forums, but we need to look past it for that skill, or we won't be able to truly find the next step in the New Generation of the forums.
