  1. cool things i've noticed in HL:Alyx:

the NPC animations are even better than euphoria's dynamic "ragdolls", looking at the parts like when the player throws a box of styrofoam or something on a soldier and the soldier reacts to it dynamically.

subsurface scattering! basically at the start of the trailer, you can see the light bleed through the headcrab. you can also see light bleed towards the end of the trailer where there's a bunch of weird goo stuff around.

volumetric lighting! there's that blue toned part that goes on for a few seconds which has that fluffy headcrab being eaten by a barnacle, and in the background you can see volumetric lighting. you can also see other parts with volumetric lighting, for instance that part with the goo stuff where there's some dude holding a flashlight while attached with more goo stuff.

floating antlions! at the absolute end of the trailer (just before the title shows up), when alyx shoots the glowy antlion, you can see a floating antlion with no animation! nice!

a zombine.. before half-life 2 episode 1? there's a part where you see a zombine destroying a wall. in hl2 episode 1, alyx acts alot like she's never seen a zombine before, so where exactly in the timeline is it set?

beta inspired characters! the combine soldiers and other character designs remind me alot of the half-life 2 beta concepts.

I don't see ray-tracing on that list. Y-you don't have a flagship VR game without Ray-tracing. You practically need an RTX GPU to play the game anyway.

Realistic lighting and reflections would greatly improve the VR experience.

what are you talking about @Spontaneous Explosions

"You don't have a flagship VR game without Ray-tracing" According to Valve themselves, from the playtesters, visual fidelity in VR games isn't super important compared to framerate and resolution.

Also "You practically need an RTX GPU to play the game anyway" I've got an RX 580, which is an affordable mid-range card, and it's good enough to play HLA.

"Realistic lighting and reflections would greatly improve the VR experience" Realistic lighting and reflections would improve literally any game experience, because it looks better.   VR isn't some special case where a game has to look like RDR2 or else it's impossible to be immersed.

      Ray tracing is the best.

But yeah, I see your point....s

Look like R2D2? xD You do know R2 is not CGI, right? In any of the movies I think.
