Yea, I think that's gonna be my strong suit in experimenting with chiptune music for a while. I understand enough about it from youtubers like Levi Niha to probably put together a decent drum beat (like I understand how to get a good balance of variation and consistency throughout a beat and I know what hihats are and stuff) but I have no idea what the definition of the word chord is. (BTW I'm gonna look stuff like that up on my own time so i don't forget, you don't gotta tell me)

i enjoy telling you, chord definition is simple
it's a group of notes played at the same time, and it sounds nice
Also for a drum beat to be good, it needs to be there to support the melody, but not get in the way. If you're going to use little taps like from the hi-hat, you gotta make sure the hi-hat is turned almost all the way down, so that the ring (from the hi-hat) isn't disturbing to the music. I also get really annoyed especially in some types of EDM, when people spam the snare for the bass drop, because A. It's overused and B. I want to hear a good melodic drop, not a cheap lead-in by a drum.

For my next concert, I'm supposed to solo on a marimba hybrid, (while the bands are switching out and getting ready,) and the director is letting me play whatever song I want. Suggest some memes, I'm not going to actually like play some classical assortment or something.

I spent my Valentine’s Day at a giant band festival. It was great because most of us were single but we had each other and we were happy.
We played highlights from the Willy Wonka movie, and our favorite part was The Candy Man because we got to swing it, and it had love in the song. When we got to the candy man, we all blasted and tried to play as loud and with as much jazz as possible. (I had rests during candy man because auxiliary percussion barely plays anything, so I just improvised on the spot, and let the first percussionist do his thing. I’m pretty sure the first percussionist improvised too) I’ve never had so much fun with my lads, I’m so glad and thankful that they were brought into my life.

All of the ice melted halfway and then refroze here, and now there are really thin ice sheets. I thought they were solid so I jumped up and down on some ice, and it broke and now my pants are soaked past my knees
