Happy Chinese New Year! (Like a week late but oh well)
Alternatively: Happy Chinese Lantern Festival!

Just some history behind the wallpaper;
        The Wang Family Courtyards (王家大院), located in the Shanxi Province (山西) and built in 1762, were under the reign of Emperor Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty. It was originally constructed by the Wang Family, one of four families of the Qing Dynasty. When completed in 1811, the total area of the compound was 150,000 square meters, containing 231 courtyards and 2,078 houses. Before the Wang clan had settled and constructed the walled town, they had an estimated 8,000 rooms. It is the second largest (and grandest) residence in imperial China.
        10 generations of the Wang family lived in the compound, until it became an architectural relic in 1996 and opened to the public in 1997. Currently you are only able to navigate 1,118 rooms. During c.1950, during the heavy rule of the communist party, farmers were transported to the grounds in order to make a socialist statement or the region's most grandiose capitalist residence. Somehow the courtyards withstood the nation-wide destruction of historical heritage and artefacts during the cultural revolution (c.1950/60), leaving a prodigious preservation of the area.

I chose this scene as it greatly depicted Chinese culture and long-lasting heritage - specifically I chose the west courtyard, informally known as Hongmen Bao (红门堡 "Red Gate Castle") as it was the one of the earliest gates built. I have depicted Jinzhong Wang (a former member and founder of the Wang Family Courtyards) celebrating Chinese New Year with his clan in 1772 - the year of the Dragon.

Huge credit redit to Voxy for handling the particles and just about all the lighting, and sprinkling effects on the set!
I sure hope you like this wallpaper!

Some extra stuff: There are four Nobles of the Qing Dynasty in the wallpaper - if you'd like, try and identify them!

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Blox, I love how the 3D detail on the buildings and rigs really break this apart from your every-day wallpaper you see on the forums, bravo! And the fireworks, not many people use them, but Voxy, you've outdone yourself with the firework particles and lighting! I also like how there's NO negative space(Which a lot of wallpapers tend to have.), and there's so much going on, your eyes don't get bored while looking at it. I can't express it enough, this wallpaper is gorgeous. :D

There's animation and then there's posing and effects...  :wacko: 

Not trying to undermine how great of a wallpaper this is, but these two things are hardly comparable.

Also, what's with people talking behind @SKIBBZ's back? Since when was that not a girly/gossipy thing to do?  :S 

@BloxTheRigger This is the first time I see something in M.I. where 99% of the stuff in the wallpaper is custom-made.  :D

Wow, something made in Mine-imator that's praised when it isn't a rig, nor is it overstuffed with lens flares?

That's surprising.

 

This is seriously one of the best wallpapers I've ever seen made in MI, and it proves that you don't need silly After Effects to make MI look good, you just need hard work, dedication, and the editing and rigging powers of Voxissimo and Bloxybro. 8D 

If this was literally anyone else but Voxybro and Blox making this, those lights and that fire would be lens flared beyond belief.

I think this is an amazing wallpaper but I really don't get why people don't like After Effects.. It doesn't even make any sense. It just improves a wallpaper.

I get that some people may like pure Mine-imator wallpapers and that's why they hate it. Unlike the ones that are jealous of AE and just call it bad for the sake of being unnecessary.

Oh BTW, this wallpaper has some level of Photoshop to it.. Which shares a lot of effects and plugins with After Effects since they're both Adobe.
