    MJY is giving you proper criticism.
    That hammer is cool for your first time modeling, but learning ModelBench can help you redo your hammer and make it better.
    Trust me, criticism will help you no matter the cost.

    Hello! This is my first post on Mine-Imator Forums, and for today,
    I have an pretty interesting thing for you.

    Some time ago, @SharpWind published the Oblivion 6.0 Generation and some people didn't like it so much, so I took almost everything the community said about his rig and remade it! Hope you liked the result, I've been working on it for a few days and I think i did a good job.
    Obviously, I didn't remake his rig to say like: "lol you're bad I can do better", actually my plan was just remake his skin but I liked it so much that I wanted to see how it would look like if i remake the rig too.

    Anyway, let's go to the rig. :)
    The new Oblivion is pretty different from the original, all the differences are:
    Default aspect ratio;
    New texture;
    Smooth body bending;
    Bendable wrists and ankles;
    New fingers;
    New non-alpha facerig!

    Here is some general view of the rig:

    Here are some examples of the non-alpha facerig:
    That's it. I hope you liked this remake, have fun with this new Oblivion! If you find something wrong just tell me.
    Just a quick warning, this rig has many bendable parts so it might cause a huge lag in your pc.

    Mine-imator 1.2.5 can't load 1.16+ assets. Updating to Mine-imator 1.2.7 will fix the issue.

    There was nothing wrong with the rig. It was Mine-imator's faulty handling of text which requires a bugfix for Mine-imator that'll come in 1.3. Now-- we're moving on from this.

    Mercury reacted to Rollo in The Deals and Business Character and Model Pack
    The thickness is intentional and I wanted it to be comically square

    And I figured the real deal didn't have enough texture to bother with it but I guess I could have done more

    Working hard or hardly working? Haha! So anyway I'm gonna need those animations on my desk by the end of the day, alright? Oh, and Rollo's got a new character and model pack in the conference room you can pick up on your way to my office. The guys at the water cooler tell me it includes 10 different skins, each with 3 different colored variants based on the game Sub Rosa!

    Oh, and get this: It also comes with 8 business-related models!
    A suitcase, a floppy disk, a stack of money, a bendy dollar bill, a clipboard with a detachable bendy piece of paper, a pen, a pencil, and a state of the art wireless cell phone! Everything you need to conduct deals and business!
    Check this out, the suitcase hinges bend when you open the lid! And you can easily recolor the floppy disk to whatever color you want!

    Alright I gotta go, I need to finish that wallpaper if I want that raise! Tell the wife I said hi, alright?

    You can also download a pack of Minecraft-usable skins if you want. Also includes the rigged skins and .pdn files.
    The female characters use a modified version of RedAnimator's female template. It's been so long I doubt he cares but if he does, and he's reading this, he should tell me!

    Mercury reacted to Nimi in Looking for developers!
    Hello! We're currently looking for new developers to help development Mine-imator 1.3.0 and future updates. Currently I'm the only developer working on Mine-imator and it could use more hands to improve and push updates faster. If you or anyone you know that may be interested, don't hesitate to contact david or myself on this forum! Below or some basic details about being a developer.
    Requirements:
    A portfolio of past coding projects, does not have to be anything big or fancy. Just something to show you have some experience with basic scripting. At or above the age of 15. Speak or type fluent English. Mine-imator uses a variety of different coding languages. Knowing all of these isn't required to be a developer, knowing a couple may be all you need to be an active developer on Mine-imator. It's fine if you don't know any of these at the moment, as these can be learned when becoming a developer.
    Languages:
    GameMaker Studio 2 / GML   - Primary coding language used for Mine-imator's codebase. GLSL ES                                      - Used for a majority of shader code. HLSL 11                                      - Used for shaders that require multiple render targets. (Such as SSAO.) C#                                                - Used for Mine-imator's world importer app. C++                                              - Used for .dll files used to execute functions that Mine-imator cannot run within GameMaker. JSON                                           - File format used in save files. (Projects, models, keyframe data, etc.) Also! If you currently do not have GameMaker Studio 2 and get accepted as a developer, david and I can arrange a Desktop license for you to use. We look forward to any new developers willing to work Mine-imator and don't be afraid to shoot either of us a message for more questions!

    Mercury reacted to Nimi in Dev update #20: 2020 wrap-up and 1.3 progress update
    Greetings animators. And happy holidays!
    I know this year has not been easy for any of us-- from million-acre forest fires, a worldwide pandemic, and everything in-between. I am sure the long wait for 1.3.0 has not helped either. To end this year on a high note, I'll be sharing a progress report of what's been going on with 1.3.0's development, showing how it'll play out until release explaining why this update is taking a while.
    Inventory
    In the previous Dev update, I mentioned Inventory, the new design language designed by @Voxy planned to be in the next update. I have been working solely on Inventory's addition since early September (Before the last dev update!) and still working on it. Since Modelbench's full release, Voxy has been hard at work refining the design language. Nothing too extreme, these changes are far more visually appealing and coherent than ever before. I plan on finishing Inventory sometime before next Spring.
    The endgame
    After 5-7 months of Inventory's development, I'll be moving onto more graphical features I still have planned. Afterwards, I'll be looking into optimizations to help with render times like frustum culling which will help with off-screen objects. After all this, I think it will be Summer and close to the next Minecraft update. I will be taking the remaining time to refine and polish the update for public pre-releases soon after Caves & Cliffs releases in late Summer. It will be a long wait for sure, but I am sure it will be well worth it!
    That's all I have this time around; I don't have new features to show since Inventory is my top priority till Spring. Until next time, I hope you all stay safe and have a happy new year!
