28stabwounds reacted to Nimi in Dev update #21: "The Anniversary Update"
Hello everyone! It's been a while since the last dev update, and I'm sure you have questions about the update and what's taking so long, so let's start with answering that.
What's taking so long?
In the previous dev update, I mentioned that I was working on "Inventory", the new UI for Mine-imator. This ended up taking a while to finish and pushing back when I planned to start on optimizations for rendering. I've since finished optimizations and now wrapping up any final graphical features for the update.
A change of plans
As many of you know, the "Caves & Cliffs" update for Minecraft has been split into two parts. This delay in the second half of the update will give me more time to further refine the update and improve areas where the program lacks, like animation. This of course will result in a delay of the update into next year, Mine-imator's 10th anniversary.
The Anniversary Update
With this new delay for the update going into Spring 2022, I've decided to rebrand the next major update from "Mine-imator 1.3" to "Mine-imator 2.0: The Anniversary Update". With overhauls to graphics, UI, and eventually animation (?), both david and I believe this update is deserving of the 2.0 title. I can't say for sure what new features will be coming in the next coming months for the update, but I'm sure the update will be worth the wait.
W.I.P. feature gallery
It would be pretty cruel to end the update with nothing to show, especially with how long its been since the last dev update. So here's some early previews of what's in store. Do note that things are still subject to change in development and the following may/may not be final. ?
That about wraps this dev update up, I doubt anyone was hoping for a delay on the update, but I hope these exciting announcements offer plenty of hype for what's still to come!

perhaps something like your attitude?
Let's not forget that Mine Imator is an animation software that makes minecraft animations. Mainly used by kids.
I'd understand if this was a Maya forum, where feedback was given by professionals, for the market, etc. But I've literally made the rig for a youtube video, gave it out for free and kids to use it in Minecraft animations. Can you stop for a seconds and listen to how absurd this whole situation has become?
I understand that lots of people dislike my style of shading, but why should that matter? It's my rig, not yours, and i prefer it this way
Now please, take a deep breath, we're talking about Minecraft animations here, not industry
I don't think a "god" would fix things they've done wrong and give credit to others for showing them how it's done ? (blocky bending)
because i don't want to fix certain things due to my preference, it doesn't make me an "egoistic god", it just means i have my own taste

I haven't really made a rig in a while, so i decided, why not make something hard, something challenging, something detailed, and so, i decided to rig something from fad, SpringTrap.
Spring Trap.. I searched up spring trap on google and i got something different.. why did he call that animatronic springtrap?
SOO Before you go and tell me that your sick of fad topics, please, i already know that.
but i really used a lot of time in it, so i don't appreciated if you hate my rig because it's fnaf
I would say i spent around 8-10 hours on it, and i'm really proud of how it turned out.
Oh and i forgot to mention, if you don't know who SpringTrap is (for some odd reason)
Well SpringTrap is one of the Animatronics in fnaf3, His basically the only animatronic that can kill you.
Weird to call him SpringTrap, I guess his a trap, for the purple guy, oh wait.. spoilers... oh heck, everybody should know that from now...
