Don't use Windows Movie Maker, it's cancer.
Obs is free and good for recording
paint . net is good for picture editing
Videopad ( http://www.nchsoftware.com/software/video.html ) is good for editing if your budget is 0$
personally I prefer sony vegas for editing, but it's expensive, so these are the reasonably good (actually, obs is amazing) programs I recommend, they're free, they do the job and they're not terrible.
