So you just stretched some blocks around, added a few particles and called it a day? I don't think such lack of effort should be rewarded.

Now to improve I suggest making custom items rather than the latter.

Relax, it's his first Rig. He hasn't even developed a comprehension for artistic style yet. Just suggest that he learn how to use Item Sheets and be on your way; let's not pretend we started off perfectly.
