A man finds himself lost in an unknown darkness. No people, no animals; only shadows, silhouettes and one long path, with a single sign labeled "Straight ahead". --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Man!! I'm actually surprised I finished this on time!! I had a month and a half to do this, the first couple weeks spend planning, story boarding, and scripting. Then starting the 1st of October, I started the animation, the deadline being the 28th. 1 month to animate and edit this... Let me advise all you fellow animators out there.. 1 MONTH IS NOT ENOUGH TIME!! Animation takes time, and I know I could have done much better if I wen't pushed for time. It's been very stressful, but I'm glad I'm done. This is made for the "Six minutes in the spotlight" Short film competition for schools. ____________________Mistakes that I could have fixed with more time:____________________ - Around the end, a camera cut isn't instant, causing a wired motion between the 2 joint scenes. You don't see it, but you can notice it. - Sliding legs. This rig is good, but h e l l to animate; sliding legs were a big problem throughout the whole of this, but even after my final tweaks, I still couldn't fix it. - Lighting. Lighting (mainly around the end) looked odd, this is because I didn't spend as much time on it as the deadline was closing it, I made it decent, but it isn't the best. - Sound effects. While writing the description to the uploaded video, I realized I didn't have any sound effects for the ending, but I don't have time to be scrolling through YouTube trying to find a decent effect. - Voice work. The voice actor I got to do this was great and did his role well, however, some part's were too fast / sounded too gruff (like an epic trailer kinda voice). As I didn't have the time, I didn't ask for those lines to be redone, however, if I had the time, I would have ? Hello there. I made this animation a few days ago which was before the Gem Collab Submission. Basically, Offiicial kills all of his fake identity because I found out that they're all wack and that this one is the superior. Anyways here's the animation. I originally posted this on my profile activity, but I decided to put it here too because I thought people would like it. Do tell me what I can improve on in the future, I really want to know what you think. Feel free to point out what you liked about it. Anyways this submission is for Hoqz's collaboration titled "The Gem Collab." Basically its about trying to steal this high value gem, whilst not trying to get caught. Just a w.i.p, obvious errors right now because (as I just mentioned) It's still a work in progress animation. I've already animated 40 seconds in just 4 days, but this may take about a week or 2 to finish because I have school now. Subtitles are going to be added in the complete version

Hello and welcome to the Animation Style Collab! (Sorry I don't have any banner because I still haven't bought a new laptop) What count as an animation style? -visual style -movement style Do one of them and you already have a different animation style The rules: 1.your entry must be atleast 5-40 seconds long 2.you must avoid animating in default MI style (basically change the visual style, movement style, or change both. Basically just get out of your comfort zone and do something different) 3.you can only submit 1-3 entrys 4.you can change the visual style but you must keep the Minecraft theme, like Minecraft but with a different style, you can make them 2D like terraria, or make them 3D and use a different visual or animation style 5.you can use any 2D and 3D software (Maya, blender, C4D, Mine-imator, Flash, Toon boom, etc) but remember what I said keep the Minecraft theme 6.you can use Sound effect 7.you can also use music if needed 8. Violent, and blood is allowed but keep them mild 9. Pornography is not allowed in my Christian Collab 10. Add your own watermark The deadline is 12th October Why did I host this Collab? To test people creativity and see how much they can push themself out of the comfort zone (what I mean by comfort zone is people default way of animating in MI). You can try to use anime style, cartoon style, challenging yourself by making a story using only particle, flipbook, stop motion, freaking Lego!!!!, 2D, papercraft, and your choice is endless! Basically try to use any style that is not your default way of animating in MI, but remember what I said, keep the Minecraft theme. I recommend get inspired by searching, watching, and observing either animator style, or just by watching your favourite animated show or movie (my favourite is spider verse) Example: How do you submit?
