What I really don't understand is why Mojang are so against adding the other three mobs from the previous Mob Vote, especially given that 99% of the people who voted Phantoms massively regret it. Those mobs were completely unique.
Not to mention given how lazy the concepts for these three mobs are, Mojang could definitely add all three of them very easily, especially since they already have the models and the textures for all of them due to them already existing in their other games.
This whole vote is completely unnecessary and is causing avoidable arguments between players for no reason whatsoever.
Honestly, given the 1.9 combat update, 1.14 texture overhaul, Biome Votes, upcoming combat tests and now this, it's like Mojang are deliberately trying to divide the community as much as possible under the facade of "We're listening to the community" while blatantly ignoring cries for a cave update, or fixing Survival mode's massive Power Creep problem.

I'm mostly dissapointed they didn't come up with something new, since these are literally just mobs from MC: Earth and MC: Dungeons..

What's even more disappointing is that everyone hates the Glow Squid and are rooting for the Iceologer.
I feel that this is going to be a repeat performance of the Phantom all over again; a hostile mob that everyone will vote for, only to end up hating it because it disincentivises traveling to (and/or living in) the mountains... a biome which will be receiving a makeover soon since we all voted it to be updated last year.
Can't enjoy that brand new terrain with blue Illagers constantly after us, can we?
Idk, I just feel like the Glow Squid is the most unique of the three, since for one thing we don't have an emissive-textured passive mob yet, and they would make the Deep Oceans so much more visually appealing.

I think that if they want to do something actually new and original for minecraft, they should revamp their bosses and make progression less boring. I've been playing Terraria instead of MC lately for two simple reasons: first, it's hard (but engaging) to progress through the game, and second, because the bosses are actually fun.

Honestly, it is disappointing. We're basically picking between a reskinned Squid, a reskinned Illager or a reskinned Cow.
If I had to pick one I'd go for the Glow Squid because I see the best potential in that one. It could have emissive textures to simulate bioluminescence, which I reckon would look really nice in oceans if done right. Can't help but feel Mojang won't get it right though, given their track record (*cough*Phantoms*cough*).
We don't need yet another Illager in a game where like a third of all hostile mobs are Illagers, and the whole "punny-named Cow haha" gimmick has already been done with the Mooshroom, we don't need another one.
Honestly, with this kind of choice, it really makes me think Mojang are starting to lose their creativity and are resorting to recycling ideas/gimmicks over and over.
Which imo was apparent when they named the new Nether ore "Netherite", which is possibly the most uninspired name ever.

I just think all this competition is kinda stupid. I mean, yeah, they're two different brands trying to sell the same kind of thing, so obviously there's going to be competition if either of them want money, but I feel like if it's this over-the-top something's eventually bound to go horribly wrong.

People have been saying that for a while now. I believe we have a pandemic, two hurricanes, and riots on the forecast, and I'm sure there are plenty more issues. A celebrity death is just a negative supplement.
