the sparkles don't look like they're even in the world

you should probably have the base shapes white, but the glow have the actual color. that makes it look brighter and not just blurred out.

I know. It was hard to make them in AE.

That layers actually have color and it's brighter than original from MI.

 you know, you didn't really even need to use external software for that. you could've slapped small glowing cubes, used a png image on a surface that glows or used particles.
