The thing that pisses me off most about shootings is not the shooting itself, but the people who whine and complain over it.
"Oh, if guns were banned this wouldn't have happened!"
That won't change anything. In fact, it'll probably result in more casualties, due to the fact that law-abiding citizens won't be able to defend themselves as easily.
Banning guns won't prevent criminals from having them. They get them off the black market, which you can't prevent.

Stopping someone from getting said thing legally would actually dissuade a lot of people. I don't know at all how to access the black market but I sure as hell know how to buy a gun. The black market isn't another supermarket like Walmart or Target.
And of course self-defense is always important. But assault rifles are just ridiculous for that. Assault rifles are made to kill and have no reason to be sold to the public. Plus they're awful for self-defense because they're actually more long-ranged, and not useful for close-quarters such as, say, a house. If we were giving anyone guns for self-defense they would be handguns or shotguns.
I'm fine with guns such as hunting rifles being sold (to keep in a home). Weapons made for murder are the problem.
Btw might I add that there hasn't been a single school shooting in Great Britain since 1996 when they banned handguns?

You may not want to give away your guns because of your precious second amendment but honestly who cares about your rights when children are dying. It's time to let it go (for specific guns).
Euch, I went full liberal, it felt awful. But, my opinion stands nonetheless.

The 2nd Amendment shouldn't be infringed on.
Also, full-auto weapons are not sold to the general public. You need a license.
