Why would anyone want to sift through stuff they don't want to see to get to the stuff they do? It's easier to get rid of it entirely, it's not a stupid excuse, it's not rude, it's not pathetic, it's easy.
You shouldn't take someone blocking you as a personal attack, you should just get over it and move on.

If you've drawn on paper mostly in your childhood (or while your somewhat young) it would be easy as pie, although its strange not having feedback from the pencil. If your on a mouse you can go bit by bit and go at your own pace. I still agree, but it varies between users.

I use a mouse, mostly because the art I make isn't serious and there is a certain charm with drawing with a mouse.
