Whenever people start talking about how they "wish the forums was back how it was", they're only screaming ignorance. The forums always had a variety of people giving mixed criticisms, and if you think that's wrong, then you aren't seeing things in the right way. In this kind of forums, criticism is what people need most. The forums are all about making content, and it's important to know how to please people and grow as a content creator. Always improving is how it should be, and if you filter out negativity then you're left with people only telling you what you're doing right, which stops you from improving. If you're too sensitive for criticism, then this isn't the place for you. It's stupid that people are still protesting the downvote system.
