Yeah, I seem to have a hard time balancing lighting. I want things to seem dark, but I always seem to go a bit too far with it.

I know that this could be better, but I don't know how to achieve it. Please, feel free to give criticism and tips!

The fire should already be lit up. You shouldn't need to turn up the brightness for the logs.

Also, there's a lot of unneeded space in the shot. Narrowing down the FOV for the camera and repositioning it would be better imo.

 

I didn't turn up the brightness, that is the default for the campfire. Didn't think about FOV, I'll have to take it into account next time.

I decided to make something based on a game called The Long Dark to test my skills after yesterday. You might actually be able to see the picture this time.

Hmm, I can see things just fine, but maybe my monitor is brighter than average?

I haven't used this program in just over 2 years, so I decided to make something to see if I remembered the basics. How did I do? 

I have a previous version which I prefer over this one if you want to see it:

A wallpaper that my friend wanted me to make for him. I know it can be improved, but I don't really want to.

I don't get the hate with fad. But to be honest, nightmare animatronics so dark that you can't see them is a little silly.

No offense, but the wallpaper doesn't make any sense. There are just random pictures flying around, some characters and like 2 blocks.

David no longer works on the program full time. I find it hard to believe that there will be a new update for months to come.

Maybe you just need to download more motherboard to handle all of the extra ram your getting

Are you running windows or mac? If mac, MI will not work unless you use the unofficial mac version.

I was on the MCGodworld website (an old server that is now known as simply survival), and someone called Professer brickeeper (I think thats spelt right) showed a picture he made in it. So, I went on and started using it.

Take mine if you want it.

It's a bit bland, and there is still the watermark, but its decent enough for a first try.
