Recently discovered in the realm of 3rd-party releases, Mine-imator Demo version 7.0 (?) was found on a 3rd-party website, not authorized by David.

This is just a warning to anyone downloading Mine-Imator.. Download from the official forums or stuffbydavid website!

Thank you for your time.

Real programs but someone reported a problem with the program that isn't supposed to be there in the first place.

I don't think anyone is stupid enough to do that m8. Also what sites? You're just not gonna link? I've also never heard of "Mine-imator Demo version 7.0".

I'm just being cautious, sorry. http://mine-imator.software.informer.com/ that's the link.

Whoever that gets tricked is just silly. Also, everyone on this forum uses the official version right?

Trust me, i know people who think that 3rd-party sites like those are legit. i have no doubt some people, especially children would eventually walk upon that website, thinking it to be legit. I hope everyone does use the official..

Nice find.

well i didn't find it. I saw a post and someone else linked it. http://www.mineimatorforums.com/index.php?/topic/44620-how-can-i-record-mine-imator-without-avp/

Someone showed where it linked to.

Quoted from PikaMasterzMC
I found this site...

http://mine-imator.software.informer.com/

And in the Licencing text file it says:

You MAY NOT:
- Distribute this program without the approval of its creator.
- Claim the program as your own.
- Somehow use it for illegal purposes.

So, I don't know if David can take action.

This guy for some reason included notepad.exe in the files. The hell..?

Anyways. This site doesn't look too sketchy on it's own. However the program was uploaded by some company, but they also linked the stuffbydavid website, which is strange.

The company here has a history of uploading sketchy content, for instance:

acc3cd7f2d.png

So what I did (at the very least) was suggest a correction to the info. But I think David will get it taken down if he doesn't approve of it.

so in other words this program is a virus, and we should avoid touching the site. 5 votes.. dang, that's totally legit...

I honestly think downloading from ONLY official websites is common sense. But even then, some people aren't the brightest bunch...

The Original poster of the topic never even linked the site or said it came from that. Pika just found one of the 1000's of sites that have mineimator on it.

software.informer.com is a legit website where do they do professional reviews, promote programs and good guides on hard stuff.
https://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/software.informer.com <--- Remember, if you have doubts about a site/link, use an online virus scanner or site reviewer.

When I checked the site out and tried to download Mineimator, it takes you to official website anyway. It just has an inbrowser version with wordpress, with all official links from what I could see anyway. (I checked them all word by word)
I still wouldn't recommend download anything from that site though.

If anyone, in any case find or see's any links they believe to be malicious or contain thirdparty content or virus's, DO NOT post it on the forums, PM a staff member.
Luckily that site and link was legit.
Have a good day.

Thank you Kona for bringing this to peoples attention. :)

A lot of sites with good WoT ratings tack on 3rd party junk into installers without the users consent. Cnet is bad for this, when they didn't use to be, and that is one of the most trusted sites on the net.

Btw. The download from the 3rd party site links directly to this one... Someone probably installed the informer client or something instead of the main file.
