(this is a terrible idea, shoot me please) They're not called Promoticons because it doesn't work. Where the more times you use an emoticon, it shows up on the left emote roster, wheras when you use one less, it goes to the right side. The emoticon roster appears when you select the smiley face on the quick reply. This sounds like a decent idea, but doesn't effect the forums that much.
