I know, but what is rioting gonna do??

Isn’t it a great point to go around burning people’s hard earned possessions?
Imagine burning down someone’s shop to make a point, shop owners are probably using their shops to get just enough money to feed themselves and heat their homes. 

I’m not defending what the cop did, I’m just saying there are probably better ways to make a point, maybe without ruining more lives.

Exactly.

They have a right to protest. They can protest whatever they want. But not violently. They cannot go around destroying property. That's just a crime, nothing more.
