If it's skipping frames, it's probably an issue with your setup. If using OBS, go into the options and change the framerate of the video to something lower. 24-30 fps maybe. And if that doesn't work as much as you want, change the video resolution to one size lower (same ratio).

OBS is very good and you can adjust recording quality, file format etc to improve your performance.

I can honestly say: no idea. Try using OBS.
