It's called setting the atmosphere. It wasn't done amazingly well in this case, but even the professionals do it.

I'd say the Scenery and posing was good enough for this time. There doesn't have to be DoF... And I think the whole apocalyptic fog thing gave an excuse for the lack of dynamic lighting. This is actually a pretty average wallpaper by our standards.  :D

True. Its just that it looks a bit dull.

Its actually the complete opposite. There would be no pollution and such.. But really though that wouldnt matter.

 

 

..plus theres a thing called "fog" built into the program. Use that.
