it's probably your graphics card, there's no other way that this could happen except if you put a black surface which you clearly didn't do. you could try updating your drivers.

it depends on the font you're using, and the minecraft font doesn't support those. also, windings and webdings are separate fonts too

by the sort of shattered thing, it wasn't for them to look like they were supposed to be connected or anything, just a nice touch to make the sword look more noticeable -

nice logo! the sword is kinda barely noticeable though, i would maybe make the "T" and the "H" kinda shattered or something. the minecraft logo on top is also inconsistent with the style of the "LOST HERO" text below. -
it's already been suggested alot, and i don't think it's actually possible in gamemaker anyways.
