About 2 minutes if cinematic shots, that's 2/5 of the actual animation. If this had credits, etc. The shots would have meaning. None the less, gj

Not too sure what your definition of actual animation is. Every shot I created whether it was cinematic or not had some form of animation in it. Excluding like 3 shots. If what you're actually trying to say is that there isn't a whole lot going on in each scene, I can understand that. None the less, I appreciate your feedback!

The night lighting scenes were good, but it still needed work. At night, there are still shadows, and a lot of people forget this. You don't need to do it, but Kiepocu made a tutorial that may be useful.

I mean to be completely technical here. The moon would emit light that would create a very very dim shadow, but you do have a point.

You both have great points! I'll take a look at this thank you!

  2. Any type of respectful criticism is welcome! In my previous animations, I struggled with having good lighting. However, in this animation I spent a decent amount of time on lighing alone for each scene. And I'm glad to hear someone noticed!

At some point I do plan on moving to blender, so yeah I'd apprecite that help!

Ok, so. I've made 2 episodes of this on my Youtube channel, and I'm currently putting off making the third episode, cos I just can't be bothered.

I do really want to make it though, so I'm just gonna leave this here, and if it gets enough support I'll kick my arse into gear to get the last 4 episodes done.

Also, I will finish those l4d2 rigs at some point. My brain revolves around "spur of the moment" ideas (which funnily enough is why I made the AK47 rig and how I actually managed to get started on here).

Very good aside from the walk cycles!

  4. We I'm in college studying Game Design so I use a lot of program in the Adobe Suite. It's $20 bucks a month but you also get programs like Photoshop, After Effects, and like 17 other programs. If you can afford it I highly recommend it but if not there are plenty of free option out there.

    Jeez! It's incredible.

Lighting might not be really strong,  or story isn't exactly 100% understandable but it's a really cool video. I can see you have potential, amazing creation!

Yeah, the lighting is what I'm looking to get better at. As for story. All my animations are connected in one or another. And I plan to flesh out stories as sequels are made. Also, THANK YOU!

    This looked really amazing.
The only thing I have to point out is the lighting, but other than that, it looks amazing.
    Great job, man :D

Yeah, the lighting is what I'm looking to get better at. Also, THANK YOU!

The fog can be a big cube that is semi transparent and you can just make it bigger in width and boom you have good looking fog. And the 1st rule of critique doesnt even make sense... How can you not criticize people by not saying if it is good or bad?

Makes sense. And what I'm saying is you should explain why something is good or bad and how to improve it. Other than just saying it could be better.

So.. Ok it is a crack texture. Yeah you can choose HD texture but then make the glass texture the same resolution too, because 2 differently sized images dont really go together that well. (Well ofc it is only my opinion but still). And i think it looks messy and unfinished because of the stretched textures, it would look like you have put more effort in to the work if it looks clean and finished. And maybe you sometimes need the side of the glass and then there are some awfully looking stretched textures.

That is true! I completely respect your opinion! The cracked texture was the only one I found that was copyright free!

Well the epic start could have some improvements maybe some more stuff going on (a little bit so it doesnt look overdone) and if you have the letters slowly coming up then they should disappear. The camera movements could be done better and the lightning could be also done a bit better. Idk why but i just dont feel relaxed watching the start, it seems a bit boring, you could maybe add some more detail to the hallways so it is more interesting to watch and so it doesnt feel like they are the same corridors all of the time. The fog thing is moving weirdly, like a block at a time, it should be a bit more suttle. At the end i dont have the excitement or the thrill, because everything goes very slowly.

Well first off, you broke rule #1 of critiquing. Never tell someone "Looks Good" or "Looks Bad" or "It could've been done better". I'll be honest, I had a hard time trying to figure out the fog thing.

I love it! :o It beautiful! sequel?

    Thank you! Any suggestions??

I will tell you this. First of all even if the sides aren't usually visible that doesnt mean you should just leave it like that, it looks messy and unfinished. And if the window breaking textures are HD then the window textures should be HD too, but if you want everything minecraftyer then make a more pixelated look to the breaking texture.

First off, it's not a breaking texture. It only cracks. When I chose to use a realistic glass crack texture over a pixelated one is because believed it would look better in an animation. Also, you're going to have to clarify how it looks messy and unfinished.
