Every creator has a responsibility toward their fans. But there really isn't much that can be done about "fanboys". They come and go, really. I would say to always make what you are passionate about and just let whoever enjoys it to watch it. As long as you keep two-way communication with your fans to keep them informed and to make sure you know what they want vs what you can offer to them, then that's really all the control you have.
Every good creator on here does the best they can, and none of us knows exactly what another person may be going through. It's really not up to them who they attract, that's kind of the nature of the internet. All we can do in the end is do whatever makes us and those important to us the most happy and fulfilled.

Reading past comments, on mine and other videos as i watch people announce there falls. It saddens me. All people care about is content and if the producer doesn't come through, they break them. Do they know how much effort is put into the video? all from one person? How much stress, fights, and Pain it brings us? Sure, we want to hear stories. But if Spielberg abandoned ONE project, does that make him a horrible director? If a fighter taps out, does that make him any worse? No, its just they weren't prepared for the circumstances. You don't know what they went through to try and satisfy their audience. 
People say "Quality over Quantity" when they don't really mean it.
 
Even then its still wrong. It goes, Effort, Quality, Quantity. 
 
The best animators, are the ones who put all their effort into a small project. 

I really have to thank you guys for understanding my struggle. I honestly wish I could post more but having responsibilities is making it super tough. I know some people expect me to make something, while others don't. And I really feel like crap for lacking motivation to do it, but lately it's been a mess here and I'm still trying to sort it all out. Once I have a stable job and my removal from college is sorted out, I'll have to make something so I don't get rusty. (I have tried already, the rust is super real atm.)
But for now, I remain strong with my words when I can't be strong with my creativity.
