it isn't broken, the forums work like that, when someone replies to a topic you are in it notifies you that someone replied, to make you refresh the page and see the new reply, but it doesn't count as a notification, and the spoiler doesn't appear in the text settings, you just have to write a command to make it appear, you should know it since you have spoilers in your signature.
