With the recent release of 1.0.0, I've decided to test the new rendering engine. The results are promising:

Never knew AO would be so fancy. (Minester's Rift Armor by KicksBrickster, everything else by me.)
By the way, I did upgrade. I just put the watermark there to fill up some empty space in the corner. Also, it looks nice (to me.)
