You can just use scale. Here is a rig I just whipped up which includes a human with 3 x 3 wide (Not pixels, but the size of the arms featured above) arms DOWNLOAD

Well it takes skills, and most of the beginners dont have them.

Made a skin that adapts to this. Should help ya CapLagCreep!

 

EDIT: MI 1 doesn't have HD skin support. But when it does, this will work.

It's just a feature that's coming in a future update. Not 1.8 specifically.

I dislike the idea of 3x3 arms. It defies the pxelyness of Minecraft. It has to be in 4, 8, 16, 32, etc.
