Ok, I think it’s time I dipped my toes into the newest controversy with Minecraft and Notch. I know many will disagree with me, but idc.
Why are people so worked up over the removal of a couple splash texts referencing Notch? I see where these people are coming from, but at least he is still being credited in the credits of the game. If Mojang removed him from the credits then I would indeed cry foul at that. Splash texts imo were just stupid, funny sayings to get people in a good mood to play the game. I’m probably one of many people who doesn’t really care if splash texts get removed. Heck, a removed splash text can easily be added back with a resource pack.

I get that splash texts are pretty useless, but they clearly weren't just removing unfunny or dated splash texts, they were trying to throw Notch under the rug.
Now, I think they legally can't remove his name from the credits, but they can remove splash texts.
I think they did that to distance themselves from Notch because some people dislike his political opinions, but in the end just enraged longtime fans of Minecraft who know Notch for more than Twitter politics.
