Forgive me for not being able to weigh in 25 minutes ago. And allow me to rephrase myself. You take a very unsupportive and arrogant approach to criticism.  Now I will answer your question. "Minecraft players don't have toes." This was most likely preference, but you could have phrased it in a more supportive way. Like "It looks cool but I personally don't like the toes. Another example. "Why did you put the time of day to dusk" Although I don't really have a problem with this one. Again could have been personal preference. "There are weird white edges to the shoes." Nothing inherently wrong with this comment. But he was most likely aware of this and you could have helped him fix it instead of pointing out an obvious flaw. "I don't think shoes are what the community is looking for right now." This takes away any effort and time he put into the rig. Try to be supportive in your words and say something like "it was a good idea" or "nice attempt" to help him grow instead of feeling unwanted.  

i mean, everyone has a certain style to things, and you can’t really take that away from people...
