Likely a bug caused by not having the YYC, not going to bother fixing something I can't fix and the YYC can. But if all you can run is a version without the YYC... then you're in quite a pickle.

why wouldnt you bother fixing something that is obviously a big problem for a lot of people?

i keep getting those errors when exporting and importing objects all the time, this program is a god damn mess, if no one is going to fix this please tell me so i stop wasting time with this

  2. how can I get the default sounds from the latest minecraft version to use in my animations? im using the ones from an older version i got somewhere

i have tried looking inside the .jar files but i cant find the sounds

Maybe disable shadows on the water, not the island?

yeah i have the cast shadows disabled in the water schematic already, otherwise it creates a massive shadow on the ground.. so yeah it doesnt work

yes i tried, doesnt work, brightness at 100% does nothing and i cant disable the shadows on the island schematic otherwise the island looks bad (no shadows casted by trees grass etc so it looks lame)

dosent work, it makes the water look like its made from blue paint

apparently u need the grond texture below the water blocks so it looks normal..

why not remove the ground altogether? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    read the quote above

if i disable ground, i get the water looking like that

  5. im making an animation that happens in the sea so i put the default ground texture as ocean texture. then to make it look like actual minecraft water i got a huge chunk of water and i loaded it as schematic. it's only water and nothing else. i made it flat, then i put the island schematic that i wanted in there. the problem is I get the island casting a shadow that looks pretty ugly. it looks like the island is floating. i want to get rid of that shadow to get it looking how i want to but i dont know how. if i disable cast shadows on the island schematics then the trees and everything on top of the island doesnt cast a shadow so its not a solution... what can I do?

how i want it (i disabled render mode so i dont get the shadow)

i was able to change the color of the water by changing the fog color...

not a solution: it changes the sky fog color too, unless you turn off sky fog off which makes the animation look dull

honestly I don't see any way to get around this. There's no way to make a proper ocean based animation until @David fixes the render so those red dots on the distance stop appearing. I have noticed that even if I make the water static I still see those red pixels as I move the camera :(

You know what, screw the blocks

Go with your ocean schematics and render the image while looking at the horizon

Probably wont render with the ocean so youll be fine

i dont understand what u mean

i get the red pixels glitch no matter what, unless i turn off wind.. which makes the map look dull

i just dont get why you can't change color settings for the ground, if we could then we could make it match with the ocean schematic tone

You need to spawn a water block and go into the library, select it, and tick repeat, and just make it a big block. Thats how I make it with my animations, works fine for me.

    200.gif

I just tried your idea and didn't work since I still had the rendering glitch of the random red lines on the horizon, not to mention the maximun size of a repeating block is 100 and that is not enough so i would need to spend a lot of time putting pieces of 100x100x100 water blocks together which is a waste of time. isn't there a way to just change the default ground texture in mineimator to the deep water one? the program should have a skin file for this so all we need is to change it I guess. the problem is... the ground from mineimator does not move up and down like regular water.. but its better than having the random red lines popping

and another problem with ur idea is the transparent lines that show up when u put blocks together:

  9. I have made an huge ocean schematic with just water, but the texture shows a graphical glitch in the horizon, there are red pixels that appear and disappear randomly as the water moves up and down, tried adding depth ot field but it looks bad since you have to put it too close.. this program never fails frustrating me everytime I try to make an animation :(

  10. I want to make a scene that happens in the sea, so instead of loading an huge schematic of water, its more convenient to just change ground default grass texture to water texture, the problem is the color of the water is not the actual water texture, also its static (doesnt move up and down) see pic:

    UOIbexE.png

how do I make the ground texture look exactly like the actual water texture and how to make it flow up and down?

Depth of field that's happening behind tinted glass panes doesn't work, it shows as if I didn't enable depth of field. I guess this is a glitch? None of the "render depth" combinations I tried worked.

Guys this is ruining my animations. How do you guys cope with it?

not only the program fails to render depth of field throught glass panes, but the SSAO is non existent too when you are using anything else but a glass pane, for example a normal block with an alpha lower than 100% or a transparent flat texture

for example, I like to make smoke slowly disapear by decreasing alpha, well I cant properly do this because the SSAO and depth of field doesn't show throught the particles.

actually same happens with cubes and spheres. i would like to add an animated gif but i dont know how to do it. it got nothing to do with the render depth option, it just doesnt work.

    very frustrating indeed :(

unless you're a channel with more than 1mill subs like le@fy, luna, gnomealert or pyrocycnical, youtube does pay you money, but it's barely enough to even rent an apartment

i'm learning computers as a safety net to fall to if youtube fails me when i'll need my money

unfortunately making a living from animations seems impossible. Subscriber count means nothing, its views that matters, and unfortuantely your latest videos get no views compared to your 200k sub count, but still, it's a good extra of income if you can get the passive views around at around 1 million by uploading a video every once in a while so the channel doesnt seem abandoned.

have you considered transitioning into a gaming channel? maybe not in the same channel but a separate channel. starting with 200k subs would be easier than starting from scratch. unfortunately it seems gaming is one of the few ways to make a living form youtube since it allows you to churn out videos constantly.

the world sucks, the only reason i have over 100k subs is probably because of fighter's player school series, but it was a trend so everyone tried to cash in on it.

I unintentionally joined the bandwagon, I didn't even know until i realized how many school parodies there are, they all failed (except for willcraft and some other people)  because they wanted to use it for money, i only did it out of pure boredom.

Damn how did you manage to get 32 million views on that video? I see you still get a bit under 1 million views per month. Those videos will probably keep making passive income for life since they will keep getting recommended by youtube due the amount of views it has so its a pretty good deal, no wonder people tried to cash out on the minecraft school thing.

  14. the software is broken, too many bugs and graphical glitches. it could be great if those got fixed, but im lossing hope, and I feel like an idiot since I donated, yet I haven't seen anything fixed for months.

When ever i try to create an animation i lose my motivation because of this.  Some sounds i put into my animation sounds broken... its hard to explain but lets just say it sounds like this

i tried changing the format, it failed

i tried renaming the file, it failed

Im also having problems with the sound

Mine stutters for ages, sometimes it keeps repeating for the entire animation

I think the program is miss managing resources or has some kind of buffer overflow problem
