mbanders 3.5k
Common Mine-imator Problems and What to Do About Them This is an FAQ topic for commonly reported issues and problems with Mine-imator, and short guides on how to deal with them. Please make sure to look through this list before asking a question or submitting a bug report! Also be sure you're using the latest version of Mine-imator (or a fan-made mod of it), as any issues you're having may have already been fixed. Mine-imator 2.0.2 (Vanilla) Mine-imator Continuation Build Mine-imator Community Build Various graphical glitches / errors: Spoiler See also: Missing textures / purple and black checkerboards everywhere. Please note that Mine-imator 2.0 is not compatible with AMD or integrated graphics cards, and attempting to use it on such devices may lead to poor performance, graphics artifacts, and crashes relating to high-quality rendering. If you encounter any of these issues, we recommend downgrading to Mine-imator version 1.2.9. Can't find a specific option / options not appearing: Spoiler You likely have Simple mode enabled, which will hide several advanced animation options that may be overwhelming for newer users. If you see the text "Simple mode enabled" in the top-right of the screen, click on it to bring up the dialog for upgrading Mine-imator. (Upgrading is free, but donations are appreciated for helping keep the websites up.) Viewport controls / tools not appearing: Spoiler In case the animation tools (selection highlights and draggable position arrows / rotation wheels) are not showing up in the viewport, you may have accidentally switched to a different tool, or disabled the tools entirely. Simply find the tool selector underneath the workbench icon at the top-left of the viewport, and select the tool(s) you need (you can also do this using keyboard shortcuts). If the tools are disabled, find the "Enable overlays" option in the toolbar just above the viewport (the button that looks like a circle with three arrows coming out of it). Particles not appearing: Spoiler Since Mine-imator 2.0, all elements of a project now only do stuff when the animation is playing, including particles. Simply play the animation or drag the playback marker forward in the timeline, and any particle spawners in the project should now start creating particles. World importer not loading specific worlds / crashing: Spoiler If your world was loaded since Minecraft 1.20, make sure you are using Mine-imator version 2.0.2 and not 2.0.0, as Minecraft 1.20 assets were not supported before then. You may otherwise be trying to load a world containing features or assets that Mine-imator does not support (modded worlds, worlds made in very recently released updates, etc.), or different parts of your world might have been loaded in multiple versions of Minecraft. If your world was generated in multiple versions of Minecraft, it may help to optimize the world in-game. (Open up the most recent release of Minecraft, select your world, click the "Edit" button, and then "Optimize World".) Objects not appearing behind transparent objects: Spoiler Mine-imator will often times turn objects behind or inside of transparent objects (e.g. water, stained glass) invisible. This is often referred to as the "Alpha glitch." To fix this, find the object's "Object properties" tab (this usually comes up when selecting the object), click the "Appearance" drop-down (make sure you're in Advanced mode), and change the object's 'Render Depth' number to anything that fixes the issue (Objects with higher render depths will render any objects with lower render depths behind them, kinda like layers. This won't work for camera effects like depth of field.). Alternatively, setting the object's "Alpha mode" to "Hashed" changes the way transparent objects are handled by the rendering engine, allowing for minimal issues regarding transparency. (Pixels are taken out of the object at random and smoothened out by the Sampling system. Use "Extreme" or "Custom" render settings to set the sample count higher and reduce the grainy appearance.) This glitch is useful for creating holes and crevices in a surface without remodeling or retexturing an object in any way, a common practice for most user-made facial rigs in Mine-imator. Objects moving without any other keyframes after it: Spoiler You may have "Seamless looping" activated, which basically tells Mine-imator that the keyframes at the end of a project should transition into the keyframes at the beginning. The looping option can be found at the right of the toolbar above the project timeline, and can be clicked three times to cycle between each looping mode (Enable looping, Enable seamless looping, and Disable looping). Recent projects disappearing from Home screen: Spoiler This usually happens after reinstalling or upgrading to a newer version of Mine-imator. As long as you haven't deleted the file directory containing your projects, they should still exist. You'll just have to find them and open them again manually using the "Browse..." or "Open project" buttons. Missing textures / purple and black checkerboards everywhere: Spoiler Mine-imator may not have loaded up Minecraft's resources properly. This can usually be fixed by going to %AppData% > Roaming, and deleting the 'Mine-imator' folder. This will get Mine-imator to re-extract Minecraft's assets after starting it up again (This won't delete your projects and shouldn't mess up anything too important.). Mine-imator 1.2.9 legacy problems: Spoiler Several 'Win-32 function failed' pop-ups appearing before program crashes: Spoiler This usually happens when Mine-imator runs out of memory. Since Mine-imator 1.2.9 is a single-threaded, 32-bit, GameMaker Language program, there's not much that can be done about this; just remember to save your projects often in the event it happens again. UI is too small or large: Spoiler The size of Mine-imator 1.2.9's user interface is completely dependent on your monitor's resolution. There is no way to adjust the zoom on the UI in this version without changing your monitor's resolution or resizing the window. You can, however, click and drag on the edges of certain UI elements, like the timeline, toolbar, or properties tabs, to change the sizes and positions of them individually. Videos and images rendering as black: Spoiler Something might be wrong with your computer. We can't help you other than by suggesting that you update your drivers or upgrade/replace your graphics card. if theres anything you think i missed just let me know k thx bai tditdatdwt, Axolotl, Red Creeper and 5 others
