Question

got a new computer ... installed direct x .... now this ___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in Fragment Shader compilation ShaderName: shader_highquality_dof E:\MI\memory(144,6): error X3511: unable to unroll loop, loop does not appear to terminate in a timely manner (37 iterations), use the [unroll(n)] attribute to force an exact higher number ############################################################################################

This error message seems to indicate the users machine is not able to support the functionality of the shader.
This is the kind of error message you would receive if the graphics card/chip is not able to support shaders.
I'm afraid shaders are compiled at runtime so if the graphics card can't handle the shader it won't play the game.
The user would need to upgrade their graphics card in order to fix this issue, you could also try making sure the 'Direct X End User runtime' is up to date on the user machine.

 

 


The problem is that your (and many others', apparently) graphics cards can't handle too many operations from the shader (the Depth of Field one is quite complex). This is not an issue at all on newer cards but I'm hoping to get this program working on all computers.
