What Does a FOLDER do?

I didn't even notice that a folder was added to Mine-imator 1.0.0.  I've never used it, so may I ask, what does it do?  It looks interesting.  I feel like it's for organizing objects on the timeline, but I'm not so sure.

It is like an object that's not an object. You can use it to do fancy movement, or simply organize things so you don't have twenty objects in the timeline at the same time.

An object to parent objects to without needing to create a body part and parenting to it, making it not visible too. The object is invisible on the render and can be really useful.
