Small update: Changing the values to something negative does nothing. It simply sends it in a southwest direct directed right at the ground as the negative value isn't set to do anything.

Ghostmanryan reacted to ÜberKiller in How do i make really good animations? Any advice
Start by trying to get one motion to look good. Like say an arm swing.. make it so that you can perfect that motion.
Then try by getting some references and trying to replicate them.
And finally, try making a motion that you've never done before.
This process is how I started learning, simply by making a single motion look good at a time. There are many other ways, but having zero direction while getting your feet wet is not always the best option.

You might want to have the shovel go inward on one side and outward on the other, if it's not like that already. You're not gonna do much with a shovel that can't carry dirt.

This should be mentioned now, but crash logs were not updated in the 1.0.5 version of Mine-imator and a TON of questions about it were simply answered with
"update to 1.0.5"
A lot of people have been confused about it since it came out, and real solutions to these questions were not getting resolved correctly due to this issue.
Among other errors, it seems copying a selection of keyframes on a character causes a crash. I dunno why that happens but copying selections of other keyframes works fine. It's only character frames.
However this only happens for using hotkeys (ctrl + c) instead of using the copy function.

We have particles that can be attracted to certain entities, but can we also have it so that they can be repelled by certain ones as well? This would seem easy to accomplish and be helpful in a handful of scenarios.

While effects can be cool looking, if done wrong they can clog up the image with unnecessary things that make it hard to see the original image.
In this instance it isn't clogging a lot, but I think only a couple effects would have been better for such a simple render. The multiple eyes is also really really weird and I dunno what effect was used to achieve it but it doesn't look good for characters.

It can use bigger schematics already in demo 5. You just have to have a beefy computer to run it well. Mipmapping in the newest update should fix some the lag issues however.
And I believe Mine-imator 1.0.0 demo 5 also can already use quartz blocks.

That helps, but when people seek to improve they can easier look up a tutorial or ask for help from someone they know who is good at what they do. A PM can be super in-depth, but a tutorial targets a more people. Voxy clearly intended to target this to the community because wallpapers need revision around here, and it makes a bigger message than what criticism on every post can do.

Hum. Well AO is set to default settings and I think it looked fine. Perhaps in areas without light it may look funny, but that isn't easily changed.
Instant scene switching seems like kind of a nitpick. There are cases where you can use a single camera following a scene thoroughly but cuts are can always be an option.
The linear progression I kind of understand. But that's really the whole point to freerunning. Move from point a to point b as fast as possible. Though I do get what you mean, and i'll try to avoid it a bit more.
And the lack of depth to the environment was me being lazy. But I was running into a lot of issues initially with Mine-imator. It really liked to crash a lot.

Animation-wise. Like what specifically? The main point of this is to shake rust and git gud, and it would help if you could elaborate as to what doesn't approve.
I also didn't have a massive selection of water splash sounds, but replaying the video shows me it sounds really different for some reason.
