      why would you need better computer?

      There are two ways you could do this:

      1. Send the finished animation to someone with a better computer to render out then send back to you.

      or

      2. You could render in layers.

      eg. Render the background with low quality settings. This works even better if the background is blurred. as you can get away with extremely low settings

      then remove the background and any lights that don't contribute to the the foreground (or where the focus is) then render that with high quality and stick them both together.

      Note that this probably wont work too good with foreground blurring.

       

      Also, what could be so resource intensive? A billion particles or something?
