Question

I have been using Mine-imator for a LOOOOOONG time, and it has been working perfectly up until this one time I re-installed it.

My computer was full, so I cleaned it up, and accidentally deleted mine-imator while emptying my downloads folder.

I noticed this, and re-installed it, but when I then tried opening it, it just appeared as a "not responding" black screen.

I looked around on the internet for solutions, and I've tried all of what I found:

-Re-installing and trying again

-Going to right click>properties, and running it compatible for windows vista and xp. (I have a windows 8.1, btw)

-setting the windows screen resolution to normal

-setting the windows background back to normal (idk why this would make a difference, but I saw a vid where a guy said it works

-putting the Mine-imator priority onto "high" and then "realtime" through the task manager.

None of these things worked or made a difference.

Please help! I have some good ideas for animations I want to make, and I would really like Mine-imator back!

I recently had these problems aswell.

The best option was to change compatibility.
Vista/XP didnt work..so I went all the way down Windows 95..And that worked.
Except screenshots and world importer didn't work properly. But give it a try and see how it goes.

As for the priority settings. Never place something on realtime unless it absolutely needs all of your resources.
It'll make processing 100% for it, sure, but when other programs needs resources, task manager will IGNORE any requests and task it sends to the CPU.

High is the highest I'd ever go.

Yes, I have tried restarting my computer, that didn't work :/

I also tried bringing the compatibility down to windows 95...that didn't work either.

I'm really confused to why this is happening, because it was working perfectly for me before...

It may be some stupid glitch with the new windows 8.1 update, which has caused some certain windows 8 apps, such as skype to not work, although besides this, I haven't had any problems with normal, desktop applications.

Are there any older mine-imator versions up for download that I could try? If an older version works, it could just mean that the newest update is weird with my computer.

Another strange thing that you might want to note is that after I ran mine-imator, and all I got was a black screen, I eventually had to force quit it through task manager, because it just WOULDN'T RESPOND AT ALL. After I shut it down through task manager, I tried deleting it, so I could try re-installing for the billionth time, but it wouldn't let me delete it. It said the program was still running. I looked, and found that it was running in the background TOO, and when I tried force quitting it there, it said "access denied," so the only way I could FULLY close it would be to shut down, and reboot my computer.

That same problem happened to me every time I re-installed and tried again.
