A tip I learned from Voxelizer, is to export scenery and characters seperately, maybe even your fire effect? And after editing these separately a nice effect is made indeed. I tried that and different levels of soften portrait looked rather nice.

So like have a picture of the characters and scenery seperately, then crop the characters? Ah, I see.
