Here is a baseline for you all to use in the next Mine-imator update.
 
16 Frames (128 x 128)
 

 
32 Frames (128 x 256)
 

 
64 Frames (256 x 256)
 

 
You can also scale the images larger if need be, because of what David said:
 
"There is no limit to the frame size, you can have a 2048x2048 image with frames of 32x32 or 64x64. If the frame exceeds the image it loops around."
 
Pretty basic stuff, and here's a bonus for you all for sticking your heads in the topic:
