  1. Renders are irrelevant because it isn't moving. Animations... most are like 1 minute long and don't have many characters at once. I'll still keep using it because I like the vanilla look and simplicity, can't be bothered to learn other software. Doesn't change the fact that performance is a joke.
  2. I had a hope that the bad performance was due me having a 10 year old computer. However, after buying a computer that can run next gen games at 3 figure FPS but fails to run 15 villagers running at 60 fps the conclusion is obvious: GameMaker is an abomination of a software, and Nimi's hard work feels wasted.
  3. The problem is Gamemaker is garbage. If Mineimator was ported into a proper engine we wouldn't have to deal with this nonsense. My computer should be able to move 20 blocky models running at 60fps in any reasonable software. Blender is unfortunately too complex to use. I like the ease of use of Mineimator and the fact that it looks like Vanilla Minecraft, however, the performance is just terrible. Throw in a couple schematics, 15 or 20 models, animate for 10 minutes and you can't no longer have smooth playback in a high end 2020 CPU. Nuts.
  4. Will peformance ever get any better? I can't even get 10 minutes of animation without seeing a big decrease in smoothness as I write more keyframes. I have one of the most powerful CPUs on the market (the new Threadrippers) with a 1080 ti and 64 megs of ram and still refuses to work smoothly after the update, this is insanity. I can't believe having like a small horde of 10 - 15 zombies walking in a straight line makes the program struggle because of the keyframes. It's ultimately Minecraft models. CPU usage is at like 5%. RAM and GPU usage are always pretty small, yet the program becomes unsmooth and yes im talking about work mode, im not working with the render on.
  5. An idea would be to disable "work camera" during playing the animation when you are just interested in the finished product in "active camera". It's dumb that we are forced to always have "work camera" rendered at all times, let us choose if we want work camera rendered or not (throught a shortcut so we can do this on the fly). Notice how smooth the program becomes when you disable the active camera window, you are basically getting half your performance since you get rid of a camera, same idea but opposite. Also when you disable "toggle wireframe controls" etc you gain performance. This is all due Gamemaker being a mess. I have one of the most powerful CPUs on the market and it still losses smoothness working on 5+ minute animations with for instance an small horde of zombies with keyframes filled for the walking animations, decently sized schematics and so on. We just need that this is ported into a 21th century engine that takes advantage of multi threading.
  6. Using this program without this is insanity. I really hope this is added asap.

    edge glow

What do you mean by this? What im trying to do is that someone is emiting light from inside. Like a guy is set on fire or something, so I need the model to emit this light.
  8. For some reason my huge smoke particle is missing and i get the square with pink and black squares. How do I fix this? can anyone post the texture? In 1.2.5 it works but not in 1.2.6
  9. Where is "camera view"? Also main point is that timeline for camera should be visible at all times because you build around this timeline.

    Ice Cream Rigs

    Can someone reupload this?
  11. I want to search on the rigs subforum, but how?
  12. Yes, you need to see the camera timeline at all times in any decent editor. Something easier to implement that could be made right now is just a shortcut hotkey that you press and it goes automatically into the camera on the timeline so you don't have to scroll around for it.
  13. Basically this thing: but which will load accordingly in MineImator 1.2.6
  14. You don't need to pin much stuff, just camera basically, and whatever you need to always see on your view. Not a flaw, just not use the feature like an idiot.
  15. Awesome, however, I would like to see something as basic as markers and being able to pin objects on the timeline finally added which would improve workflow alot. See:
  16. We need to be able to pin stuff so you can scroll while what's pined doesn't scroll. The most obvious inmediate need for this is for the camera one. An animation is build around the camera keyframes, so you find yourself scrolling up and down like an idiot all day to find the camera timeline. It was already discussed here:
  17. And today in things which Mineimator needs since years ago.
  18. I need to import like 100 different skins. Do I really have to go throught the insanity of individually clicking on each and importing separately? because I can't seem to import them all at once..... @Nimi another obvious thing lacking in this software.
  19. Nobody uses Vimeo tbh. And nobody wants to see people doing Minecraft animations most likely, so Twtich is not an option. Most people want to see hand drawing, or flash animation being produced. Minecraft animations traffic is probably mostly kids, so all the talented people on that field will suffer. Hell I think even people like MineCZ are pretty talented and hilarious in the comical way they animate. There's a place for everyone in Youtube, and im an adult and I enjoy some apparently "-18" content too, and I would stop recieving notifications. It's unfair they are going to probably leave when YT nukes ANYTHING that has to do with fun as a whole because if you upload the video and not mark it as "kids friendly" but the algorithm decides it is, you will have a strike of sorts. They will shadowban the channel basically, the videos with no comments and no notifications enabled.. how depressing a channel like that would be? not to mention you would make next to peanuts in revenue for your time. True, but this makes it even worse, it will be the nail in the coffin. And the worst part is we still have people like Logan Paul on the platform that will suffer 0 consequences from this, when 99% of their viewers it's kids.
  20. As per the latest policy news: https://www.theverge.com/2019/9/5/20849752/youtube-creators-ftc-fine-settlement-family-friendly-content-gaming-minecraft-roblox Our videos will most likely be flagged automatically as "targeted for kids" due the Minecraft colourful aesthetic. This means: no comments allowed, no notifications allowed (so having subs is useless) and ad revenue obliterated due personalized ads being not allowed. Considering how much time it takes to create a 10 minute animation, even if you are doing a simple one... it's pretty much pointless with the up and comming policies. If making any money and developing a fanbase now is a pipedream, imagine with what's in store. So I predict everyone will quit.. perhaps except the few ones getting some help from Patreon which is like 2 or 3 and they aren't one-men projects but studios. Youtube once again screwing up everyone in the process.
  21. Which filename specifically should I replace with a transparent texture? you mean enderman_eyes.png I guess? I will try later and see results.
  22. Just close the camera and open it again, you double your fps. And disabling wireframes also gives you more fps.
  23. When you want to see how the flow of the animation is going and you want to watch it, or when you are near finishing and just want to see that everything is in place.. you want as smooth framerate as possible, so it would be useful to be able to disable the work camera, because you dont need it to be rendered as you are wasting resources. Just by disabling the actual camera you see the work camera goes smoother so we want the same thing but disabling work camera to preview the animation smoothly.
  24. Well the shadow glitch fix will save me editing like an idiot for hours in sony vegas, so that's awesome. Also ground texture being able to be animate is good for some scenes. Now I would need that the clipping issues are fixed. For instance, iron bars are clipping all over the place, it trully is a mess. Have you looked into this? @Nimi
