It's not a schematic. At 0:40 you can see that he didn't change the angle of the background and it looks like a screenshot, therefore the schematic was made to look larger by using a screenshot of the city in-game via greenscreen. At least that's what it looks like to me. It's nothing terribly hard to accomplish, that's what I have to do for my upcoming animation.
