A good idea is if you're doing a high resolution texture, you need to know the dimensions of the image

8x8 items have 128x128 (I'm not sure if mine-imator supports low rez textures tho)
16x16 items have a 256x256 image (Defualt)
32x32 items have a 512x512 image
64x64 items have a 1024x1024 image
and so on

creating a grid or using the brackets that's found on the vanilla item sheet REALLY helps too!

its actually very easy

download this texture and fill in the blue arrows with your custom items, examples included

then when you are done go to mine-imator and add an item,

then go through Project properties ---> Library

click the item that you have created,

then find your picture that you edited and select it.

go to change and select your custom item
